The Rize: Scouting Notebook on Linebacker, Part 2

A double-session prospect showcase, this event drew middle school prospects from all across the country to see how they stacked up against their national counterparts. Each prospect was personally hand-selected by middle school guru&nbsp;<a href="https://x.com/AlPopsFootball">Al Pops</a>&nbsp;to compete and attend.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As per usual, I attended and report to you my positional notes for the position group referenced in the title of this article. [player_tooltip player_id='1476876' first='Malachi' last='Bredy'] showed that he is an absolutely powerful runner. Bredy both got down hill and dropped back with equal urgency. What was specifically noticeable in both situations was that his 5'10" 205lb frame moved like a locomotive that was behind schedule. The MTCA all-star was aggressive when he defended the pass, swiping and playing through the ball. I watched as Hines followed through when over the top to defend and dislodge the ball. Hines also had no problem keeping up with anyone's foot speed, saying stride-for-stride, while also showcasing solid ball skills when the ball was tipped. I watched as Webster, routinely, toyed and had his way with smaller backs. Showcasing his physicality, few backs were able to create separation with how well Webster forced the issue.
