On Saturday, June 27, 2026 Prep Redzone Next was back-in-action in Jackson, New Jersey, as they hosted "The Rize." A double-session prospect showcase, this event drew middle school prospects from all across the country to see how they stacked up against their national counterparts. Each prospect was personally hand-selected by middle school guru Al Pops to compete and attend.

As per usual, I attended and report to you my positional notes for the position group referenced in the title of this article. My evaluations are through the lens of a high school coach and talent evaluator.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!

There might not have been a more savvy decision made all day long than the one I watched Hunter Behm make. The rising 8th grader identified a clear and distinct size matchup during 1v1s between his receiver and the covering defensive back, and promptly worked to exploit it. With several inches of height at hand, Behm delivered a loft pass to his target on the top shelf. This effectively gave the defender zero chance to do anything remotely close to contesting the pass.

A prospect who appears to have been the product of strong coaching to this point is Adrian Celestin. As Celestin dropped back to pass, he recognized that the defensive back was playing over the top, to the outside, and slightly ahead of his intended receiver. As such, Celestin delivered what would have a back shoulder throw. In my estimation the ball was placed well; unfortunately, Celestin's paired receiver did not recognize the leverage and never broke off his vertical. Never the less, it was the correct ready by Celestin.

This winter I attended a coaching clinic where I watched Delaware Head Coach, Jersey native, and quarterback expert Ryan Carty discuss play at that position. He brought to attention the idea of a "foot arrow," which basically means your foot leads to your intended spot you are throwing to and your body is aligned with it. I bring this up because I noticed Rocco Arturo Major inherently adopt these mechanics. Rather than pointing to where his target is, Major pointed his toe toward where he wanted the ball to be delivered. He also, like Carty discussed, gathered and strides into his throws for accurate deliveries.

A youngster that I found myself rooting for was Jace Jenkins. Jenkins had solid lower body mechanics, specifically planting his front foot when delivering a pass. That said, he ought to transfer his weight and focus on driving off of that front, plant leg more. Doing so will allow the young fella to let it rip more than he already does.

The Rize Event Coverage

Defensive Line, Part 1
Defensive Line, Part 2
Defensive Line, Part 3
Offensive Line, Part 1
Offensive Line, Part 2
Offensive Line, Part 3
Linebackers, Part 1
Linebackers, Part 2
Quarterbacks, Part 1
Quarterbacks, Part 2
Quarterbacks, Part 3
Receivers, Part 1
Receivers, Part 2
Receivers, Part 3
Running Backs, Part 1
Running Backs, Part 2
