A new Head Coach, elite upperclassmen, key transfers, and impact freshmen are key for 2026

St. Peter's Prep is fueled with fire to win their first outright NJSIAA State Championship since 2019. With longtime assistant Ryan O'Flaherty taking the reigns as Head Coach in June, there is a lot of buzz in Jersey City about what SPP could do this year. With major D1 talent woven throughout this roster, big time transfers and 3-5 incoming freshmen (class of 2030) that could see varsity playing time -- the time is now for the Marauders.

Below are some of the incoming freshman (class of 2030) to know in 2026.

There are no shortage of prospects who played Quarterback during their youth careers headed to SPP in this 2030 class, but Quigley is one the better ones at this point. He's listed at a self-reported 6-foot and 165-pounds as of July 2026, after spending the 2025 season with the North Brunswick Indians Pop Warner team. He has a good frame for an incoming freshman QB. On film, he needs to clean up his throwing motion a bit, but he can get the ball where it needs to be.

One isn't going to get very far at all, when rattling off a list of the top 2030 two-way Linemen in New Jersey without getting to the name of PRZ Next Middle School Camp alumni [player_tooltip player_id='1036101' first='Donovan' last='Vasquez']. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 260-pounds as he heads into his freshman season, he could be the most fundamentally-sound big man in the state as of July 2026. He played for multiple teams during his youth career, but wrapped it up in 2025 as a member of the St. James Royals, helping them reach the Pop Warner Super Bowl. His athleticism and ability to move in space were specifically noted in evaluations and writeups. After a banner season for Freehold in 2025, he earned a spot on the Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Stars. He was noticeably bigger from January to June and I'd imagine he plays the upcoming 2026 season in the neighborhood of 6-foot and 180-185 pounds. That's a nice size LB for a freshman that could play early.

Making the most of a reclass season in 2025 and suiting up for the Deptford Spartans 14U team, Davis established himself as unquestionably one of the best pure CBs in the state of New Jersey for this 2030 class. As a result, he was registered for The Rize 2026 but ultimately wasn't able to attend due to his services being needed on the varsity level. He is a prospect that could see playing time very early in his career for St. Peter's Prep. The Marauders are loaded at the skill positions on both sides of the ball and Davis will have an opportunity to learn from two of the best in the country, playing behind Amiir and [player_tooltip player_id='432446' first='Adrian' last='Woodward'].

Different; That's the only word that comes to mind when describing 2030 ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1906022' first='Kingston' last='Hill']. In my mind, there is a real shot for Hill to be ranked the No.1 prospect in the state of New Jersey for this 2030 class as of July 2026. An exceptional athlete who dominates in both basketball and football. Hill was registered for The Rize 2026 but ultimately wasn't able to attend due to his services being needed on the varsity level as an incoming freshman. With offers from Memphis and Syracuse already under his belt, Hill appears to be a day-one starter for St. Peter's Prep. He's going to be a special one.

Out of the myriad of 2030 Quarterbacks that St. Peter's Prep has coming in for the 2026 season, there is no question who the most varsity-ready is: [player_tooltip player_id='1567241' first='Tyler' last='Shea']. After being named a NJSYFL All-Star following the 2024 season for Old Bridge, Shea rook a reclass year and helped the St. James Royals reach the Pop Warner Super Bowl during the 2025 season. He has one of the strongest arms, if not the strongest arm, of any 2030 QB in New Jersey. He was undecided on a high school until early/mid-June, but the wait was well worth it, as the Marauders have a QB1 for potentially the next 3-4 years.

Additional 2030 prospects of note

[player_tooltip player_id='1653519' first='Alexander' last='Galarza'] - In my opinion, the 2025 Hoboken Jr. Redwings MVP has a chance to be pretty good once he gets away from the youth level. He's built like a MLB/FB he's thick and agile at 5-foot-7 and 170-pounds, but there's recent clips of him playing QB during 7v7 which likely will never happen in high school. It's TBD on how he progresses at a top tier program like SPP.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251449' first='Darius' last='Bolling'] - To the best of my research skills, from what I can tell, 2026 will be the first year of football for Bolling. That said, the New York native is speed personified. The 4x National Champion absolutely look the part of an elite athlete has been clocked at a 10.98 in the 100M.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251849' first='Jaxen' last='Parker'] - Much like the above mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='2251449' first='Darius' last='Bolling'], I am not sure how deep or [player_tooltip player_id='2251849' first='Jaxen' last='Parker']'s football resume is, but give me a natural athlete with the AAU track resume he has, any day of the week.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251608' first='Jersey' last='Keating'] - While the QB has been on my radar, I have not been able to track down any film from his 2025 season to give him a full evaluation. However, there's something to be said for leading Union City to back-to-back championships on the youth level. He's a tall righty with a winning pedigree. He checks some boxes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251865' first='Josiah' last='Styles'] - A slippery WR that I simply haven't seen enough quality film of yet, to get a full opinion on. In the film that is clear enough to see, he looks slippery and can move around with the ball in his hands, making defenders miss.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251430' first='Kolbe' last='Ali'] - A thick, bowling ball of a Running Back/Middle Linebacker, last listed at 5-foot-6 and 170-pounds. He's a powerful back that could easily break through arm tackles or defenders that came in too high -- TBD on how that translates to the high school level.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251830' first='Robert' last='Zywicki'] - A developing IOL and DT Zywicki is an incoming freshman that has pretty decent size and a frame to work with. Couple that with the fact that he has a bit of a wrestling background and the former Pope John product could become a nice piece with physical development and improved skill.

[player_tooltip player_id='2251500' first='Vin' last='Buffa'] - The last (alphabetically by first name) of at least six kids who played Quarterback during youth football in this 2030 class headed to SPP. Buffa possesses some toughness as he's also a wrestler and played with Rahway in 2025.
