Kentucky's 2027 LBs Eyeing Huge Senior Seasons

We're closing in on another football season, and today, we're taking a look at a group of LBs who are eyeing big years and looking to make their mark in the recruiting world.    Robins is a quick linebacker who plays with good burst and gets downhill in a hurry. He has a knack for timing the snap and can create pressure in a flash before offenses have a chance to react. He plays with strong hands, wraps up well in space, and doesn't let many ball carriers escape once he gets there. I like how aggressive he is attacking the football. He's always looking to rip it out instead of just settling for the tackle. He had 14.5 TFLs, 4 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 2 sacks in year 3 and will be a leader for the defense as a senior.     Darden is a versatile linebacker who can roam around the second level and gives you a lot of flexibility as a hybrid piece. He has good instincts, reads his keys well, and is usually quick to diagnose what's happening. I like his footwork in the trenches, and he does a nice job staying square with good pad level when taking on blocks. He's comfortable dropping into coverage but can just as easily come downhill and play in the box when needed. He doesn't really look out of place doing either. I really like him because he does a lot of the little things right, and that tends to show up over the course of a game.     Crouch is a multi-year starter who has gotten better every season. He plays with good discipline and doesn't get antsy or bite on fakes, which keeps him in position to make plays. He has decent ball skills and has shown he can come away with interceptions when quarterbacks test him. I also like the effort he plays with. He's a sideline-to-sideline defender who chases plays all the way through the whistle and doesn't give up on anything. His effort and experience show up in how calm and under control he plays.     Fields is a springy athlete who looks really comfortable playing in the second level. He plays fast but not reckless, trusting what he sees instead of flying out of position. When he gets there, he can lay some big hits and isn't afraid to be physical at the point of attack. He's also comfortable dropping back into coverage and doesn't look out of place playing in space. I also appreciate the effort he gives on special teams. He strikes me as one of those players who helps energize the guys around him, and those types of guys are a must on the field.     Willoughby is a coverage linebacker with fantastic range and stride length. He covers a lot of ground in a hurry. He accelerates quickly and has good closing speed, which gives a defense a lot of options in coverage. He reads the quarterback's eyes well and isn't afraid to drive on the football when he sees an opportunity. He's more than just a coverage player, though. He can come downhill, fit the run when needed, and is a reliable tackler in space. He's someone I can see that you trust and who comes through in the clutch when you need him the most.
