As coaches, this is where you separate flash from substance. Anyone can make a highlight play, but what shows up consistently snap after snap is what really matters. Footwork, leverage, ball skills, eye discipline, effort—those are the traits we're focusing on in this breakdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='2138061' first='Max' last='Everett'] - Heritage Hall

Class of 2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='2138061' first='Max' last='Everett'] of Heritage Hall is an emerging playmaker with a skill set that makes him one of the younger prospects to watch. Everett is quick and explosive, showing the ability to accelerate in and out of his cuts while creating separation from defenders with his change of direction. As a runner, he displays good vision and patience, allowing blocks to develop before identifying a crease and attacking it with decisiveness. Everett is also a valuable weapon in the passing game, demonstrating soft, reliable hands and the versatility to make plays out of the backfield. His combination of vision, burst, and receiving ability gives him the tools to be a complete offensive threat, making him a Class of 2028 prospect worth following as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831433' first='Jett' last='Norman'] - Dibble

Class of 2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1831433' first='Jett' last='Norman'] of Dibble is a young prospect who continues to trend upward after an impressive sophomore season. Norman rushed 107 times for 771 yards and 16 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to consistently produce and find the end zone. He is a physical runner who embraces contact and rarely goes down on first contact, consistently fighting for extra yardage. Norman displays good patience, allowing his blocking scheme to develop before decisively attacking the crease. He also adds value in the passing game with reliable hands, making him a legitimate receiving threat out of the backfield. His combination of toughness, vision, patience, and versatility makes him a well-rounded running back and a Class of 2028 prospect to keep an eye on for his Junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1831955' first='Gavin' last='Brown'] - Talihina

Class of 2028 running back [player_tooltip player_id='1831955' first='Gavin' last='Brown'] of Talihina High School is a prospect worth watching as he enters his junior season. Brown is a physical, downhill runner who thrives between the tackles and isn't afraid to lower his shoulder to pick up tough yards. He displays good vision, allowing him to identify running lanes while also possessing the quickness to make the first defender miss. Brown runs with an upright style but consistently finds ways to move the chains and finish runs. He put together a productive sophomore campaign and showed the ability to be a reliable workhorse in the backfield. As he continues to develop his game, Brown has the potential to make an even bigger impact during his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1829398' first='Prince' last='Charles Shelburn'] - Yukon

Yukon running back [player_tooltip player_id='1829398' first='Prince' last='Charles Shelburn'] from the class of 2028 is an exciting young prospect with the skill set to make plays in multiple ways. Shelburn has plenty of wiggle in his game, using quick feet and sharp cuts to make defenders miss in the open field. He displays good vision, allowing him to find running lanes and navigate through traffic with confidence. Not only is he an effective ball carrier, but he also provides value in the passing game with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield in open space. Shelburn moves exceptionally well in tight spaces, showing the balance and agility needed to turn small creases into positive gains. Despite his elusiveness, he isn't afraid to lower his shoulder when necessary to fight for extra yards. With his combination of vision, versatility, and toughness, Shelburn is a Class of 2028 prospect who has the tools to become a dynamic offensive weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1651151' first='Jamane' last='Stubblefield'] - Ardmore

Ardmore's [player_tooltip player_id='1651151' first='Jamane' last='Stubblefield'], a Class of 2028 running back, is a prospect who continues to impress every time he steps on the field. I had the opportunity to see him firsthand at a seven-on-seven event in Broken Arrow, where he lined up at wide receiver and certainly did not disappoint. His athleticism and ability to contribute outside of the backfield immediately stood out. After watching his game film, it's easy to see why Stubblefield is such an intriguing prospect. He is a powerful downhill runner who attacks the line of scrimmage with authority while displaying the vision to find running lanes and the balance to finish runs through contact. He has the speed to break away once he reaches the second level and consistently keeps his legs moving to gain extra yardage. His combination of size, power, athleticism, and versatility makes him one of the more exciting young backs to watch. Stubblefield is primed for a breakout junior season and should continue to attract plenty of attention as his recruitment progresses.
