With the release of the 2029 rankings, I have an opportunity to talk about a handful of QBs that really popped out either on film or in person this offseason. There are a few passes that he put on film in 2025 that will wow you. He has no issue stepping into throws, even under pressure, and delivering precise darts with good velocity. He hits out routes well, he can hit a hole shot, or can just flat out stretch a defense with a big bomb over top. On top of that, he moves well and understands how to buy time or just burn the defense for some explosive plays. He's in a program that is now building in the right direction, so it will be fun to see how he fares once he takes over.

Chase couldn't be in a better position to succeed. Currently at one of the most successful and storied programs in the entire country doesn't hurt, but he gets to learn from the #1 QB in Michigan's 2028 class to boot. The lanky freshman has dual-threat ability, and has already demonstrated the ability to decipher what he needs to do quickly. When he has a quick open target, he is able to drive the ball in with good timing and velocity. When he has a window over the middle, he is able to layer the ball and make sure he puts it on the money. Really impressive stuff out of his freshman tape, with plenty more to come.

The transfer out of Millington really surprised me, which is why he made such a huge jump to the #8 QB in his class. For a freshman, he was incredibly patient and collected in the pocket. No rushed footwork, no wonky mechanics. Just clean, cool QB play. Very rarely do you see such a young QB with that kind of demeanor on the field. As for his physical talent, you can't miss it. The ball pops out of his hand with a quick trigger, and the accuracy is well ahead of the curve. Really excited for what his future could be at a program that is known to develop really special QBs.

Patton was one of my favorite discoveries of the offseason, thanks to our Prep Redzone 7 on 7 events! He was very productive every time I got to see him work. Patton showed time and time again that he could make the big play when his team needed it, and didn't panic or make bad decisions. He led his guys with good anticipation and clearly understood coverages and different ways to attack individual defenders. I don't know exactly where he will stack up on the depth chart this fall, but with continued development, this will be a name you'll be very familiar with soon.

I really liked the film I watched of Vincent last season, and I believe that he is extremely close to breaking out. Really impressive arm strength, great ball placement and consistent, smooth mechanics. I loved his ability to step up in the pocket under pressure and still keep his eyes downfield on his target, something many high school quarterbacks struggle with, regardless of class. I will be watching what Vennettilli does over the next few months!

Recent 7 on 7 clips and his 2025 film make me incredibly excited about Brayden and his upside. First off, he possesses an extremely explosive arm. A flick of the wrist sends the ball soaring for a deep ball. When he rips one into a window, there is no time for defensive backs to react and get a paw on it. Not only that, but he has a great frame that has already begun filling out. Dewitt has championship pedigree and has shown an ability to develop quarterbacks at an impressive level, and Hughes could be the next star in Panther country!
