Breakout Seasons Brimming for These Northern Indiana Prospects

There aren't many camps and no games to attend right now, but that doesn't mean we at Prep Redzone are sitting on our hands. On the contrary, we are hard at work. All throughout the summer, we'll be taking a look at some top returning starters and young prospects who will make a big impact as the season rolls around this fall, spotlighting several prospects. Here is our summer scouting notebook featuring prospects from Northern Indiana.    Lake Central linebacker Brody Ramirez is a starting lineabcker and name to know in the 2027 class. Good inside linebacker with a nose for the ball and high range and pursuit. Quick to read, react and move on the run. When the ball is in the air, displays good effort at chasing down receivers and preventing big plays. Undersized but plays tough and can be a very physical tackler. Good blitzer who shoots through gaps.     Carter Ward flashes potential as a solid quarterback who has a quick release, throws with great zip and velocity between the hashes, and has great rhythm and timing on the deep ball. Ward is highly productive, having come off freshman and sophomore years with a combined 1,780 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. He is making remarkable improvements as a junior, throwing for 901 yards through the season's midpoint.     Charlee Lawson of Culver has a quick first step, strong use-of-hands and can mirror rushers in pass protection effectively. The 6-foot-6, 290-pound left tackle starter uses his length well to maul defenders to the ground and he flashes good balance, staying on his feet while engaged with a defender. At 6-foot-6, he has a prototypical frame.     Darian Girton for Fishers High School is a tough inside receiver who runs a deadly wheel route and creates separation over the middle of the field on his own. He is also great at getting yards after contact, staying upfield and pressing the field vertically after the catch. He will be a key name to watch this fall for the Tigers who should be serious contenders in 6A ball.
