Summer Spotlight: Southern Indiana Stars Ready to Shine

There aren't many camps and no games to attend right now, but that doesn't mean we at Prep Redzone are sitting on our hands. On the contrary, we are hard at work. All throughout the summer, we'll be taking a look at some top returning starters and young prospects who will make a big impact as the season rolls around this fall, spotlighting several prospects. Here is our summer scouting notebook:    A multi-purpose threat for Shelbyville, Grantland Fitzgerald is a solid inside receiver with great adjustment to the ball. Fitzgerald displays soft hands over the middle of the field, can high-point the ball and come down with both feet in bounds, and is a legitimate threat over the middle of the field. HE scored two touchdowns in Week 6 and had 11 catches for 135 yards receiving in Week 4, with an additional 73 yards rushing.     Layton Henry is a two-way starter for Columbus East High School. At 6-foot-1, 140 pounds, he has a lengthy frame with plenty of room to grow, add bulk and get better. At corner he uses his arm length effectively to break up passes, he can high-point the ball and come down with it as a receiver. Henry displays very solid hands over the middle of the field on bubble screens and is a threat to score.     Layden Fitzgerald is a quarterback for Shelbyville High School. Fitzgerald, a Class of 2029 prospect, has a quick release and accurate arm, especially over the middle of the field. He throws with great velocity on short/intermediate passes, flashes solid touch on the deep ball and does a great job of setting his feet and pulling the trigger. He finished last season with 1,448 passing yards and 15 touchdowns through the air.     Quinn Kenworthy is a safety and quarterback for Mooresville High School. Kenworthy is a Class of 2029 prospect with a 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame who can pick off passes and take them to the house after the catch. As a quarterback he is very mobile, can buy time and throw on the move. He throws with solid accuracy in the short/intermediate game. Keep an eye on his development.
