He's got a ways to go to grow into the size of a true tight end, but the athletic traits Axel has showed that they are there to continue to grow. Certainly during 1v1s, this kid caught my attention with his long arms that reached for some balls that were probably out of reach for some tight ends, but Axel was able to haul them in. Over time of watching those reps with his hands, I felt he elevated his stock with his hands showing more natural ability with his hands skillset. Surely one that doesn't have tape posted yet, to watch for in his senior season at Medford.

Howie was a new name to our Minnesota 2027 radar at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp on Thursday, as one that made a handful of splash plays throughout the day especially towards the end of camp on the defensive side of the ball. His ability to be effective in pass coverage and set the tone early with his bump-run coverage that got the WRs off balanced and also appeared to be instinctive when the ball came his way with his ball-tracking ability which showed off to be instinctive as far as his movement by being in the right spot at the right time. One to know as a great fit in the secondary out of St. Cloud Cathedral heading into his senior season.

Hustle MVP

Outside of our WR MVP, my favorite wide receiver in attendance at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp was Eau Claire North 2029 [player_tooltip player_id='1649311' first='Joshua' last='Barfield']. You want to meet a young buck that wanted all the reps on Thursday? That was Joshua in a nutshell, as not only was he determined to get rep after rep, you could see the progression from start to finish of his 1v1 reps. Joshua found ample seperation in the 1v1 reps I got to watch and that progression grew rep after rep I got to watch. Surely a 2029 to keep tabs on out of Eau Claire North in the coming years.

WR MVP

Without much question in the live eval, our WR MVP from the UW-Stout Prospect Camp was [player_tooltip player_id='1335699' first='Ely' last='Kohlman'] of New Holstein. Ely was near perfect during 1v1s on Thursday afternoon and caught just about everything that came his way. I was actually most impressed with his hands in high traffic areas as I felt the natural hands showed out further when he did to deal with a defensive back in h is pocket and had to improvise in the air to make the reception. He picked up an offer from the Blue Devils, which is his second offer thus far as Ely to me might be one of the biggest sleepers in this 2027 class this late in the summer.

TWITTER

A 2027 linebacker that caught my attention with a handful of reps I was able to watch in Menomonie was Rushford-Peterson's [player_tooltip player_id='2237473' first='Cole' last='Thompson']. The 5'10 195 pounder, showed off one of the bigger motors out of the linebacker group and one of the most downhill linebackers I saw in the group. Cole was consistently fluid in the reps I watched from start to finish in Menomonie. He's a little undersized, but he fits in the box of a linebacker prospect that you go outside your measurables threshold for.

/TWITTER

Dylan might have been one of the smaller prospects in attendance, but caught our radar for a reason as this will make back to back UW-Stout Prospect Camps where a prospect from Cochrane-Fountain City catches our PRZ radar. The 5'7 155 pounder, was pretty elusive in his lateral movement during Indy drills and that translation hit even better once he got into 1v1s. Despite the size, Dylan had intriguing length with his lower body with his strides as they were significantly longer than you would expect at that size which helped him from a range and ball-tracking perspective. Yet another one out of this list we would take a crack at as a corneback target at the D3 level.

TWITTER

QB MVP

Alex was the alpha in the quarterback group from my eyes as one of a couple athletes out of Amery that finished in the top-tier in their positon group. The 5'10 165 pounder showed off great arm strength that could air it out on all three levels. His throws were elevated even higher with just about each of them showing the proper velocity you want to progress downfield, as the precision Alex had as well was one of the first skillsets that popped out. Not bad for a 2028 prospect just opening the door as an upperclassmen this fall.

TWITTER

OL MVP

Easton was surely a hard one to miss from a live eval perspective at the UW-Stout Prospect Camp. He had a handful of reps where he stood out amongst the OL group, but the one that really caught my attention was actually when I was watching the skills group and from the corner of my eye, I found Easton taking a DL on a long ride with excellent leverage not knowing how long of a ride he could have taken him on until the whistle blew. Just a 2028 prospect, the 6'4 250 pounder with a long 6'8 wingspan is figuring out how to use that length to his advantage as the start to finish reps showed the development I wanted to see during camp on Thursday. This is the second time in a couple weeks that Easton's gotten on PRZ's radar at camps and I am sure that will continue too with the college coaches now that the doors are fully open for college coaches to reach out.

Another running back that finished in my top-tier in the group, was Suring 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2238029' first='Croix' last='Kempka'] who is another new name from the UW-Stout Prospect Camp. Croix is another one out this list from Thursday, if you watched his reps from start to finish you could see the progression he made. This young man was quite coachable and took new concepts to his play quickly which was a good first sign I saw from Kroix in Menomonie. He impressed me most as a north-south runner that I felt showed off his best reps around the edges which is where he showed off his elusive movement. The 5'8 200 pounder has the mix of speed and agility that surely could beneift a RB room surely in the WIAC.

TWITTER

RB MVP

The two times I have made the trip to Menomonie this summer for the UW-Stout Prospect Camp, there's been a plethora of running backs that powered my attention and this time around my selection for MVP was Appleton West's [player_tooltip player_id='2236581' first='Charlie' last='Blevins']. The 5'9 172 pounder was one that I felt was the most well-rounded running back in attendance from the reps I watched, as you had to be impressed with the sudden speed, elusive change of direction to the field the open field, and just was a flat-out sound finisher in every rep he was given on Thursday afternoon. His explosiveness was another area that stood out amongst the RB group, as surprisely the Blue Devils were the first to offer Charlie out of the WIAC as I love the amount of hidden gems I have seen at the last two camps in Menomonie like Charlie for example.

TWITTER

We close our live evals from the UW-Stout Prospect Camp with 10 more of the standouts that cracked our notebook in the live evals in Menomonie. This list has our QB MVP, RB, MVP, WR MVP, and our Hustle MVP for the best effort regardless of position we saw at camp and it came from a 2029 wide receiver that was eager for a ton of reps!
