Another name this time on the offensive side of the ball that doesn’t take long to pop out on tape, is New Holstein’s Ely Kohlman Ely Kohlman 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR/ATH New Holstein | 2027 State WI . Not only does the 6’3 180 pound frame stick out, but when I rolled into his tape I really liked the production you see out of Ely after the catch as one that has the notable long strides to progress downfield and might take a couple tacklers to bring him down. He’s also a springy improviser with his route-running as well and is a sleeper out of NE Wisconsin to surely know.

I don’t believe I have gotten to watch Ely work in person to this point in his career. However, if it is up to me that will change this summer. A big reason is because I believe the WR out of New Holstein has the athletic traits to be one of the top testers at any camp he attends. The ’27 WR has reported a 4.5 40, 35″ vertical, and is coming off an All Region WR junior season. The kid also never leaves the field with roles at WR, DB, and multiple special teams spots. On tape I love how he attacks every level of the field. His size and speed give him the advantage deep, but then he can also surprise you with how he can make you miss after the catch in the quick passing game. Don’t miss out on the mismatch.

Ely is often used as the only WR out wide in the New Holstein formation, but he is able to put a lot of stress on defensive backfields because he is a smooth athlete that can separate with his route running and his speed to stretch the field. Ely is a big play threat as an a sophomore with soft hands and a willingness to go and get the ball instead of waiting for it. It’s quick film this week, but a good start for one of our top underclassmen WRs.
