We spent the whole day in Grand Forks at the second UND Flagship Camp which saw two sessions of talent come thru the University of North Dakota, as we start with the offensive and defensive linemen that caught our attention from the Land of 10,000 Lakes and the home state of the Fighting Hawks. As you can imagine, the amount of North Dakota and Minnesota prospects was at a premium, so we start off with those out of those two states that dominated Thursday morning in the trenches.

It's now been back to back showings in the live eval at SDSU and now the UND Flagship Camp that Devils Lake's Aidan Stiven has shown why we have him rated as one of the best 2029s in North Dakota. The Firebirds defensive end was showed off the springy movement you wanted to see coming off the edges while yet being flexibile when it came to his balance in the reps we were able to watch in Grand Forks. I saw accelerating growth from Aiden from one FCS camp to another with how he could refit his hands and quickly accumulate leverage as in the younger group of DLs at the UND Flagshp Camp, Aidan was one of the best in attendance from what I was able to gather. Surely is one that should see the Division 1 stock rise sooner rather than later in this young 2029 class.

Derek was an offensive line 2028 prospect out of Cambridge-Isanti that caught my first attention during the County Fair session of the UND Flagship Camp that caught my attention. Obvisouly during this session, you are looking for trench monsters that have particular skillsets that are built with agility, motor, and speed and the motor skillset was one that Derek surely showed off in his reps I got to watch in Grand Forks. This young man was a hustler when it came to finishing his reps and the translation to what you saw during Indy and 1v1s was pretty similar, as Derek showed off the blue-collar mentality you wanted to see in the offensive trenches especially with the finish he had during each rep I was able to watch. He's ranked just outside of our top 100 in the state, but surely could be one that moves the needle upwards after summer camps.

TWITTER

A newer name out of North Dakota's 2027 class that I surely wanted to get a live eval on this summer and did at the second UND Flagship Camp, was Langdon Area's Landon Schneider. The 6'3 245 pounder first caught my attentiond during County Fair, as one of the offensive linemen that was one of the tighter turners in the figure eights and showed off trhe athleticism I wanted to see out of a target in the offensive trenches when he finished his reps. The first team All-Stater has tenacious hands that are built to finish and can get out of space into the second level, but is yet under the radar and surely a college weight room could add plenty of frame to this young man in the coming years. A sleeper out of the 2027 class in my eyes with just one D2 offer thus far.

TWITTER

Ari came into camp season as our OL2 in the 2028 North Dakota class, and with the amount of reps we have seen out of him during camp seaosn including at the UND Flagship Camp, he's surely proved why he's in that top-tier in North Dakota. He showed off in Grand Forks the development he's shown with attention to detail with his hands, as Ari has formed a more well-roundeed approach throughout the summer with the way he finishes his reps especially in board drill settings. His ability to apply the long arms he has at his disposal has shown this summer to be more natural in his progression as the pad-level surely was well-versed in the reps we watched in Grand Forks. Surely one that has solidified why he should be an early offer in this 2028 class due to his camp progression this summer.

TWITTER

Casey has had now a few camps where he has caught my attention and most recently at the second UND Flagship Camp of the summer. It doesn't take long to see the growth he's made over the summer when you watch his reps as the 6'5 260 pounder from 11AA champion Devils Lake had some reps in Grand Forks where you could see the power he has at disposal with his hands. An area where he can grow from what I grasped from UND, applies with his footwork as the 50/50 reps that could have gone either way in Grand Forks at times, showed oversteps that got him off balance but yet in my eyes it wouldn't take much to correct for college coaches out there evaluating. He surely looks like a good fit for a Dakotas NSIC program from my lense as the upside is surely there to grow.

TWITTER

One of the most intriguing new names out of Minnesota on the Dakotas camp circuit over the past couple of weeks has been Albany's Nicholas Vanheel. The nearly 6'4 225 pounder checked in with a nearly 6'8 wingpsan and based off the reps I was able to watch, you could see he was figuring out how to utilize that length. During the testing period, it did not take long for Nicholas to show off his explosiveness as one of the more impressive EDGE prospects in the triple jump. During 1v1s, those his explosiveness was well-noted not only by me but the UND coaching staff as he won a plethora of reps with his sound get-off and was one if you watched his first rep to his last, he got much more agile and tech-saavy his hands and how quickly he got off with those hands. He's one that surely we need to get on our 2028 Minnesota board here quickly.

An EDGE rusher that caught my attention yet again out of Rocori was [player_tooltip player_id='1581388' first='Nolan' last='VanLoy']. He was one of the more agile edge rushers in attendance based on what these eyes saw and the testing numbers tell the tale from a translation perpsective. The nearly 6'3 210 pounder ran a 4.72 40-yard dash, 4.55 in the pro agility, and was just as explosive for his szie in the triple jump. The 1v1 reps I was able to watch out of Nolan showed off that explosive get off I wanted to see as one that has elevated that skillset since last summer's live eval as I felt he was more progressive with his hands getting off blocks with also a higher speed as well. Surely this was seen too amongst the D2 level, as he got his first offer from Bemidji State after camp.

Another Minnesota defensive line prospect that kept catching our attention on Thursday morning's session at the UND Flagship Camp, is Stillwater defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1629870' first='Andrew' last='Olson']. The 6'2.6 nearly 250 pounder, ran inside a 5.0 40-yard dash at that size and ran just over a 4.9 in the pro agility as well. Andrew impressed me with his speed from the jump, but later it was the lfexibility he has with that size that caught my attention. During 1v1 reps, he showed off pad-level that tells the tail why the low-man wins during his reps as the depth he had during those reps led to a couple of 1v1 wins on Thursday in Grand Forks which made it evident to see why he's got a handful of offers already, and I wouldn't be surprised if he had more come his way by the end of the summer. Swift get off hands that can dominate with the run-game and showed off agile hands with his refits in Grand Forks.
