UND Flagship Camp: Nate's MN-DAK WR/TE Standouts

Moving over the pass-catchers, we feel we found a deep batch of them throughout the afternoon session of the UND Flagship Camp last Thursday. From 2027 sleepers in Lakes Country, new names, and a tight end with nearly a 6'10 wingspan, we feel that we unpacked a ton from this stellar group of Minnesota and Dakotas wide receivers and tight ends.    A 2027 wide receiver that has continued to climb up his stock this summer has been Pillager's [player_tooltip player_id='1646034' first='Thomas' last='Niggeler'] who had an impressive showing at the UND Flagship Camp. The 6'1 175 pounder had a 6'3 wingspan, 4.60 40 yard dash, and one of the more eye-catching numbers in the pro agility amongst the wide receiver group which was a 4.27. Thomas caught the bulk of our attention with his well-versed route-running ability which has skyrocketed over the past year from an instinctive perspective in the live eval. What shocks the heck out of me, is how vastly under-recruited Thomas is as he finally got his first D2 offer come in just five days ago and is one that the growth has been hard to miss out of Lakes Country. Thomas I wouldn't doubt adds more recruiting stock in the coming month.     A 2027 wide receiver that was hard to miss from a athleticism standpoint at the final UND Flagship Camp of the summer, was our second prospect out of Robbinsdale Cooper in Grand Forks in [player_tooltip player_id='1523144' first='Ashton' last='Harris']. Ashton was eye-catching during testing with a verified 4.54 40-yard dash and also went 4.42 in the pro agility. Ashton was a wide receiver at camp that played with a chip on his shoulder from the live reps I took in as you could tell this kid relishes the attention to detail well from the coaching he received from camp. For his size, Ashton showed off sound contact balance with his routes against bigger competition yet again, showing off an athlete that can provide on muliple levels of the field at the next-level that is still awaiting his first offer.     A 2028 athlete that I am fired up to keep watching his development in North Dakota's 2028 class is Bismarck Legacy's [player_tooltip player_id='1657130' first='Josh' last='Link']. The Sabers have a plethora of talent in that 2028 class to know and have a couple WRs that I had in my notebook but being able to watch Josh on the offensive side of the ball in Grand Forks surely intrigued me athletically what this young man can do on both sides of the ball. From an instincts perspective from what I watched from Josh I was intrigued with Josh's ball-tracking ability and the quickness he had identifying where the ball was headed as one of the more sizable North Dakota wide receivers in attendance. He showed off great hands in the reps that I caught as our DB1 in the 2028 class surely showed that he could be play either spot at the next-level.     Another 2028 wide receiver out of Bismarck Legacy that caught my attention at the UND Flagship Camp on Thursday has a familar last name to North Dakota football fans, as [player_tooltip player_id='1612240' first='Ty' last='Julson'] stood out in the wide receiver group. How did he standout? I saw a couple of the best and toughest receptions of the day almost back to back, as Ty had one of them that showed off the excellent hands he has at his disposal. Currently our WR4 in the 2028 North Dakota class, this young man could surely be a stockriser from the UND Flagship Camp worth noting and has the college football pedigree with older brother Jack at MSU-Moorhead starting next-year who was one of the top wide receivers in his class.     Logan had one of two of the most eye-catching receptions of the afternoon at the UND Flagship Camp during 1v1s. The 6'2 180 pound new name WR out of New London-Spicer, was also eye-catching during testing with a 4.59 40-yard dash and 4.40 in the pro agility. Both of my favorite catches of the day came from the 2028 class in Minnesota and North Dakota, but Logan is one that has very light tape which has me stoked to see what his junior year turns into in the receiving core with the Wildcats     W82   An under the radar name in the 2027 wide receiver group that grew on me throughout the UND Flagship Camp on Thursday afternoon was Park Christian's [player_tooltip player_id='1858670' first='Logan' last='Giese']. The 5'10 172 pounder sold me quickly how long he off the eye test as he boosted a 6'4 wingspan which should catch more college coaches attention throughout the summer. He impressed me as a route-runner in Grand Forks, showing the athletic ability on how he can utilize those longer arms for his size to his advantage and making receptions along the edges that would be tougher for most receivers his size without the length that Logan has. He just got his first offer from Dordt a couple weeks ago and is a three-sport athlete that sells me as a great fit as a slot receiver at the next-level.     A camp stockriser out of the 2028 class in Minnesota from Chaska was wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1695556' first='Justin' last='Greathouse']. The nearly 5'11 175 pounder, ran a 4.56 40-yard dash and was surely locked in during pro agility as well with back to back 4.42s. Justin was one that I caught most during the County Fair session at the UND Flagship Camp as one that was more rangy than you might expect for his size due to that intriguing change of direction I mentioned. His athleticism from a COD perspective at times looked almost robotic from these eyes. He got reps at running back last year at Chaska, and it wouldn't suprrise me at all to see this young man line up in the slot from what I gauged in Grand Forks as this was our first look at Justin in the wide receiver group on Thursday afternoon.     W10   Ben was one of the wide receivers at the UND Flagship Camp in the afternoon session that finished amongst my top-tier out of the WR group. The nearly 6'4 192 pounder from Northfield, went 4.68 in the 40-yard dash and 4.53 in the pro-agility showing that his elite size also shows off the speed and twitch that college coaches wanted to see from the start of jump. The quarterback group was able to benefit in 1v1s to the great length that Ben showed off in his later reps from camp, as a wide receiver that wasted no time with finding the ball regardless of where it was thrown with how quick he was able to recognize where it was as Ben didn't need much room to operate with his great hands he showed off. He's picked up three NSIC offers in the month of June and mostly recently from Bemidji State who saw exactly what I saw from Ben at the UND Flagship Camp.    Tight Ends    One of the last live evals I got on Thursday afternoon at the UND Flagship Camp for Minnesota prospects, came from Eastivew 2028 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='2208380' first='Gabriel' last='Granger']. The nearly 6'5 205 pounder easily showed off the longest wingspan amongst the skill group in Grand Forks boosting a nearly 6'10 (yes, you read that right) wingspan which is absurd for this junior to-be out of Eastivew. He also went 4.88 in the 40-yard dash and 4.68 in the pro agility, but what stood out of Gabriel during 1v1s, was his toughness to come back to the ball and make a catch on an underthrown ball which showed off Gabriel's ball tracking ability. Surely one that we need to get on our radar quickly in this 2028 class out in the South Metro as the high top ability Gabriel has to going to be one that's fun to watch over the coming years.
