Oliver West | Prep Redzone Scout
#4 returning receiver in Minnesota.
Committed to MSU-Mankato.
2025 stats: 45 catches for 844 yards and 9 TDs.
One of the biggest winners of the 2026 Summer Camp SZN who recently shut down his recruitment and committed to MSU-Mankato to play both football and baseball. Explosive deep threat and man-coverage buster who can burn you as a route runner or after the catch and with the ball in-hand. Big, tall, long, and verified measureables and athletic numbers. Missing his QB from the 2025 season but should be a safety valve and valuable, consistent presence for whoever steps in at QB for the Raiders.

Northfield has a good looking roster going into the fall, and the Raiders are home to a 2027 WR who PRZMN was dying to see live and in person in WR Ben Ims Ben Ims 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Northfield | 2027 State MN . A super productive wideout from last season who totaled 45 catches for 844 yards and and 9 TDs (18.8 YPC) in MN’s 5A ranks, Ims had great film from his junior year but really needed the verified athletic measureables to put things into context. Ims more than measured up at the opening Minnesota Gophers’ camp of the summer, popping off strong athletic times, especially in the 40, and his height and length were impressive as well. Minnesota State-Mankato offered right after the camp’s conclusion, UMD joined four days later, and Northern State and Bemidji State added themselves to the mix later in June.
Ims was a game-breaker in 2025. Opens his tape by getting open on a slant, outpacing the coverage corner, and then putting a nifty move and some great footwork on the awaiting safety and free defender, working himself loose where he then accelerates and finds pay dirt on what should have been a routine tackle for the helpless defense. He was a man-coverage annihilator, especially when working vertically, and could even easily torch two-high or that MOF defender thanks to his raw speed and explosiveness. These are 5A defenses and DBs too! Excellent ball track and ball skills, including 50/50 contested catch ability too. Ims is poised for a big-time 2026 and we’re very excited to see where he lands at the college ranks.

Even with a change at QB, Northfield’s passing game should remain elevated in 2026 with the presence of Ben Ims Ben Ims 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Northfield | 2027 State MN , one of the most elite WR prospects in the state entering this season. Ims put up an explosive 844 yards on 45 receptions (18.8 YPC) and 9 TDs in 2025, taking significant steps forward following his sophomore season. With a great combination of length, speed, and quick twitch moving around, Ims flashes a well-rounded skillset as a reliable target at all 3 levels of a defense, capable of burning defenders deep as well as catching the ball and gaining huge yardage in space. Ims holds several D2 offers already this offseason, and he may have the edge to push as a D1-caliber talent with the right fit.

Ben was one of the wide receivers at the UND Flagship Camp in the afternoon session that finished amongst my top-tier out of the WR group. The nearly 6’4 192 pounder from Northfield, went 4.68 in the 40-yard dash and 4.53 in the pro-agility showing that his elite size also shows off the speed and twitch that college coaches wanted to see from the start of jump. The quarterback group was able to benefit in 1v1s to the great length that Ben showed off in his later reps from camp, as a wide receiver that wasted no time with finding the ball regardless of where it was thrown with how quick he was able to recognize where it was as Ben didn’t need much room to operate with his great hands he showed off. He’s picked up three NSIC offers in the month of June and mostly recently from Bemidji State who saw exactly what I saw from Ben at the UND Flagship Camp.

What an entrance to the Summer Camp SZN for Ben Ims Ben Ims 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Northfield | 2027 State MN ! The Northfield Raiders standout pass-catcher was in desperate need of some verified measureables and an in-person, competitive evaluation, and Ims made the most of the opportunity on Tuesday night in Dinkytown. With better-than-expected testing numbers, PRZMN saw Ims burn one of the fastest defensive backs in Minnesota on a fade ball to highlight his explosiveness, as well as overall route running ability. Northfield High School is a very under-the-radar hotspot for talent right now. Should be a lucrative summer for Ims on the camp circuit.

PRZMN has had a lot of fun watching and scouting the Northfield Raiders in 2025, and if you haven’t been paying attention, the 507 5A competitor has been on a real hot streak on the recruiting trail the past two cycles. With back-to-back South Dakota State commits, Northfield is stocked with big, long, athletic, high-upside multi-sporters, many of whom are doing a great job of raising their recruiting stock in 2025. The Raiders, who are currently a lean & mean 4-2, have themselves a heckuva 2027 wideout in Ben Ims Ben Ims 6'3" | 170 lbs | WR Northfield | 2027 State MN , a 6’3, 180 lber. who also competes in basketball and baseball for the Raiders, has popped off for 24 catches for 470 yards and 6 TDs in five games of action, and his regular season play this fall has elevated his stock so well that South Dakota State and North Dakota have reached out with gameday invites, Ims‘ first recruiting contact of any kind! Should be more of that coming the rest of 2025 and beyond.
Ims, who is obviously tall and possesses noticeable and imposing length on the perimeter of the LOS, is a contested catch machine who can make some ridiculous snags with defenders draped all over him and a smooth route runner to boot. Displaying explosive deep speed that can consistently threaten and take the top off the defense, Ims accelerates out of his cuts, especially when working vertically, and he does a good job of breaking off his routes quickly and without too much wasted movement. Shows good awareness as to where the sticks are and when he starts to work into a DB’s blind spot as well. I also like Ims‘ ball skills. The Northfield junior has a fun rep against Mayo where he beautifully high-points a back-shoulder seam ball to show off some bounce and soft hands, can use his size well when fighting through the press successfully, and his height and length are useful when playing the ball in the air. Ims is a tough, athletic kid who uses his size to his advantage and has a well-rounded skillset for a junior wideout sitting at a clean 6’2-6’3. PRZ is a big fan of Ims, his potential, and the rest of his junior year in all three sports.
