SDSU Prospect Camp: Nate’s Dakotas Skill Standouts

The 6'3 200 pounder for the Arrows, we obviously have rated pretty in the South Dakota 2028 rankings, but I thought his live eval raised his stock. Gavin showed off a sizable catch radius, sound hands, and was a solid route-runner epsecially on intemrediate routes in the reps I watched. Talec was one of the most explosive underclassmen linebackers from the Dakotas in my eyes and clearly is a linebacker that is very coachable, as I felt his reps got even better the more I watched due to his instinctiveness, great ball-tracking, and physicality at the point of attack. The 5'11 160 pounder for the Cavaliers jumped a 9'5 in the broad jump, 4.8 in the 40-yard dash, 4.56 in the pro agility. He showed off later in the live reps a defensive back that was nothing but springy with his change of direction during the Indy period. He went 4.67 in the 40-yard dash and 4.49 in the pro agility which although, I don't have the numbers from last summer in front of me, I know surely that Shay has turned a corner in his development. What I saw from Shay during the live reps is a defensive back prospect that has improved a ton with his ball tracking ability and footwork that appered much more fluid than a full year ago. He was one of the more eye-catching Dakotas wide receivers in attendance off the eye test and that wasn't all. He showed off some of the better hands I watched out of the wide receiver group and caught just about everything that was thrown way, regardless if the throw was on line or he had to adjust with his ball-tracking ability. He's got just one basketball offer thus far, but what surprises me is no football offers at the moment. One of the most poised quarterbacks I have ever scouted in the Dakotas, last Monday was not much different from that perspective as Brody put his throws countlessly on the money on all three levels.
