It's June, which is close enough to the season to start preseason content, at least in my mind. We're bringing back one of my favorite series from last season, but this time it's a bit earlier in the summer. Here, we're looking at several conferences to predict one player per team as their team MVP. Let's look at the Big Carolina 6A/7A Conference.

Editor's Note: Since we started these much later in the offseason, we rolled these into conference previews. We'll preview conferences in the future, but here, we're just focusing on team MVPs.

Jacksonville Cardinals

[player_tooltip player_id='1844273' first='SaRonn' last='Thompson'] | WR

There's a two-headed monster in Jacksonville, and I'm giving Thompson the nod here over [player_tooltip player_id='1895409' first='Amari' last='Pearson'] (who ran for nearly 2,000 yards) simply because we've written less about him. In talking to several coaches in the area, there's a feeling that Thompson is one of the most underrated receivers in the state. He's a true 6-foot-3 with the ability to get deep and win one-on-one matchups. Given the talent around him, his skill set unlocks a ton of options on the offensive side of the ball.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1895409' first='Amari' last='Pearson'] (RB), [player_tooltip player_id='887866' first='Domonic' last='Williams Jr']. (DB), [player_tooltip player_id='1619953' first='Montez' last='Jimenez'] | RB

J.H. Rose Rampants

[player_tooltip player_id='1852705' first='Jaleek' last='Parson'] | WR

I have a sneaky suspicion that Rose may be back this year, as an already potent offense should only be better this season. Parson is one of the state's leading returners at receiver after going for 1,200 yards as a sophomore. A true FBS recruit, Parson is just one part of a potent passing attack that returns all of its key pieces. Plus, the only other returner in the conference with over 700 receiving yards is transferring in to play for the Rampants.

Others Considered: Shamah Cabell (WR/DB)

White Oak Vikings

Elliot Pineda | DB/WR

Offense wasn't the issue for the Vikings last year, who went winless in conference despite averaging 25 points per game in those five contests. This year, they'll lose several key pieces from that unit. But Pineda returns after averaging nearly 25 yards per catch last season. He's also a key piece in a talented secondary that should be better this season.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1553253' first='Keyon'Dre' last='Wright'] (DB)

D.H. Conley Vikings

[player_tooltip player_id='2224630' first='Anderson' last='Thomas'] | WR

Conley is a dark horse this season, even if the Vikings lose some talent in key areas. One of those is at the receiver position, and Thomas is the guy who has the biggest opportunity to step up. He was one of the better underclassman wideouts at the Carolinas Coaches Combine, measuring in over six feet and running in the 4.7s. He'll look to build on his 20 catches last season.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='2169854' first='Harris' last='Jones'] (TE)

New Bern Bears

[player_tooltip player_id='1084981' first='Karvin' last='Magwood'] | RB/DB

Magwood is a dangerous running back with the explosive ability to hit the hole and break off long runs. A three-year contributor at running back, last year was his first year making a huge impact on the defensive side of the ball. He'll look to build on a 54-tackle, 900-yard season from last year, especially as the Bears lose a ton in the passing game.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1092182' first='Ezekiel' last='Best'] (LB/RB), [player_tooltip player_id='1089277' first='Rylan' last='Copeland'] (WR)

South Central Falcons

[player_tooltip player_id='2224609' first='Justin' last='Blow'] | Edge/WR

Guys like Blow are the reason we like to run these types of articles. He slipped through the cracks last year on a 4-7 South Central team, but the multi-sport, two-way player is a bona fide college prospect. At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, he's a physical freak with the speed to get behind defenses as a receiver and the strength to beat offensive tackles as an edge rusher. He had 15 catches and five sacks last year, and I have my eye on him as a potential late riser.

Others Considered: [player_tooltip player_id='1660795' first='Cayden' last='Harmon'] (Edge)
