Jaleek Parson
About Jaleek
Expert Analysis
Joshua Graham | Prep Redzone Scout
Jaleek Parsons exploded onto the scene with a true breakout sophomore campaign, quickly turning heads and earning national attention along with multiple D1 offers seemingly overnight. He set the tone early with a dominant season opener—10 catches for over 180 yards—and never looked back, finishing with an impressive 1,218 yards and 12 touchdowns. Now heading into the next season, Parsons is in an even better position to thrive as J.H. Rose continues to add weapons around him. With defenses forced to account for multiple playmakers, he’s likely to see plenty of single coverage—and that’s a matchup nightmare for any defense in the 252. Expect another big-time season from one of the region’s most electric receivers.

J.H. Rose has traditionally produced more running backs than receivers, but Parson is bucking that trend. A true two-way player, we’ve gone back and forth about which position to rank him, and for now, we’ve settled on receiver. He’s as explosive an athlete as you’ll find, and he scored as a rusher, receiver, kick returner, and punt returner this season. Based on the season he had, no one should be surprised that he was one of our biggest overall movers in this rankings update.

We originally added Parson to the back end of the rankings early in the season and kept moving him up our internal board. As he stands now, he’s fourth in the state in receiving, and he’s been a walking explosive play. In fact, he has a 40+ yard catch in every game this season, as he’s on pace to pass 1,000 yards as a sophomore.

(WR, Sophomore) has been nearly unstoppable this season, cementing himself as one of the top young backs in the Carolina Recruits Region. At 5’9, Parson brings a powerful blend of speed, balance, and toughness that has translated into 626 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns already. What’s most impressive is his consistency — he’s topped 100 yards in every game but one, giving his team a reliable offensive weapon week in and week out. A true “super sophomore,” Parson’s production and ceiling make him one of the brightest underclassmen on the mid-season Player of the Year watchlist.

Jaleek Parsons is definitely someone to keep an eye on—especially given how early he’s making an impact as just a sophomore. For a player that young to already be putting up highlight-worthy plays and stats that match some of the top talents in his class? That’s impressive. His potential is huge, and it sounds like he’s got a lot of room to grow.
Being a go-to guy for Rose this early in his career speaks to his maturity and ability to handle the spotlight. At this stage, it’s not just about raw talent; it’s also about how he’s able to run routes, make adjustments, and elevate his game when the pressure is on. If he continues at this pace, he could become one of the top playmakers not just for Rose, but in his class across the state.
Given how much of an impact he’s had already, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Parsons emerge as the primary weapon in the passing game as the season progresses. As defenses start to key in on him more, it will be interesting to see how he adjusts and whether he can keep producing at such a high level. If he does, we might be looking at one of the future stars in the state.

Parson played at the varsity level as a freshman, but mainly as a kick returner and rotational corner. Friday was his first taste of varsity football as a receiver and he did not disappoint. The speedy track star caught 10 passes for 181 yards, showing opponents that he has the receiving ability to make teams pay for coverage mistakes.
