Last week, we released our updated 2029 rankings. Since then, we've broken down almost all of our 41 new additions, as well as all 20 stock-risers. We've also covered the class from a bird's-eye view by grading the position groups. But while we like to look back on the last few months, we always keep an eye on the future. In this piece, we're looking at six guys who could rise in the future.

Which 2029 Players Could Rise in the Next Rankings Update?

[player_tooltip player_id='2220823' first='Ty' last='Pugh'] | TE | Grimsley

I'm always impressed with Grimsley's ability to develop their young talent, and Pugh just hit our radar in recent weeks. Already, we've been highly impressed as he moves to the tight end position. The Whirlies ask a lot of their in-line guys, but I think Pugh has the I.Q. and physical ability to perform at the level his coaches expect, and if he does, it's a clear sign he should be closer to the top of the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='2209990' first='Walter' last='Patrick'] | OL | Robinson

Patrick impressed as a freshman, but there will be a step up in quality as he moves to 5A Robinson. He's a physical, imposing tackle prospect with good feet on film. I'm not sure he'll play left tackle again, but if he kicks inside, it may end up helping his profile. I'd imagine we'll move him closer to the top of the rankings if he has a strong sophomore season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2113129' first='Rhyon' last='Walker'] | DB | Rolesville

Walker is a highly-touted safety prospect with very little varsity experience. Once we can see him on the field at that level, though, I could see him moving up our rankings a few places. He's a rangy, technically sound safety with ball skills, so we think he could break out as a sophomore. We'll be watching, as he's one we've heard a lot about.

[player_tooltip player_id='2079239' first='Camden' last='Stillwell'] | QB | East Gaston

Stillwell showed some promise as a freshman at East Gaston, and we like his physical tools. That said, I think we'll see the coaching staff trust his arm a bit more this season, as he ages. I'd like to see him in a camp setting, where his mechanics and footwork are on full display.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301382' first='Landon' last='Delk'] | OL | Cuthbertson

The talent is there with the leaner Delk, who played some varsity ball last fall. But we couldn't in good conscience put him too high in the rankings at his then size. This offseason, he's clearly put in the work, adding what looks like about 40 pounds of muscle this offseason. He already flashed the ability to move people in the running game, and the added weight should really help.

[player_tooltip player_id='1781963' first='Truth' last='Caesar'] | DB | Cardinal Gibbons

There's a reason Caesar already sits so highly in our 2029 rankings despite having barely played at the varsity level. We saw him in the lead-up to last season and made him one of the first 2029s we covered on Prep Redzone. Now, he's in line to see an increase in his varsity workload, and he also earned his first offer, a big one from Nebraska, over the weekend.
