We've spent most of our late night in our camp notebook from the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp, which we have been in attendance since the beginning! If you want the best bang for your buck from a reps perspective at a Midwest camp, I would highly recommend especially for the underclassmen to check out the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp every year, as it's grown a ton, but yet keep the high-reps mentality you want to have to get the most out of your camp seasons.

We spent tonight with the Minnesota and Wisconsin prospects that caught our attention, as we found 16 in total that we logged from just those two states. More is on the horizon, but lets get the ball rolling with some of the MVPs by class, MVPS nominated by the Crown coaching staff, and more!

2030 MVP

I always love finding the young bucks at camps like we found at the Crown College Camp in Lakeville North 2030 edge rusher [player_tooltip player_id='2238187' first='Nabeel' last='Mohammed']. The 6'1 200 pounder is one that surely off the eye test is going to grow into an even longer frame as just an 8th grader at the moment, and one that won just about every rep on Saturday afternoon at Old National Bank Field. He's one that progressed quickly in his growth at camp, as from start to finish he was turned into one of the best defensive linemen I saw in attendance. He's got speed and long strides to win battles off the edge and I thought got smoother with his hands with the more reps I watched. Get to know this kid now, not later if you are already hunting for 2030s about to make the leap to the high school ranks.

TWITTER

A top 15 prospect currently in our Minnesota 2029 class and one that surely looked the part at Saturday's Crown College Prospect Camp was Springfield RB [player_tooltip player_id='1699579' first='Conner' last='Schmitt']. The 5'10 170 pounder got on my radar from a handful of reps during camp in which it started off in testing, watching Conner's change of direction for his age during the pro agility in which he tested with one of the better size profiles in his class with that specific testing number. The live reps is where I felt Conner blended in with the upperclassmen, as he showed off as a route-runner that is just getting started boosting his athletic upside that is going to continue to grow. Conner has a sound football IQ for his age and is one that I was impressed with his grade A character for his age as well!

2029 MVP

I spent a fair share of my time in the trenches throughout the day at the Crown College Prospect Camp, but there were a handful of quarterbacks that caught my attention as the day went on including Southwest Christian 2029 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2236795' first='Nolan' last='Pease']. He finished in my top-tier group amongst the quarterbacks I watched, which as a 2029 is impressive to say the least. He intrigued me with his ball fits in tight windows especially on intermeidate routes as one that I feel the progression from a poise perspective grew with the TON of reps that Nolan got in Saint Boni on Saturday afternoon. Surely a Minnesota 2029 quarterback that needs to get on our board here soon!

Another Minnesota 2028 wide receiver that caught some of our attention at the Crown Elite Prospect Camp on Saturday afternoon was Spectrum's [player_tooltip player_id='1612361' first='Jarren' last='Mitchell']. Jarren is one that I wish I had gotten to watch more reps out of, but the reps I did watch were well-versed in what I am looking for a live eval perspective. Off the early eye test, Jarren was one of the more balanced wide receivers when it came to his explosiveness and change of direction amongst the underclassmen. He's a fluid route-runner for his age as it doesn't take him long to get to his top speed from what I saw on Saturday and he's taken it up a notch from what you see on tape from his sophomore season with the Sting. Good wiggle as far as elusivness in open space from what my eyes caught in St. Bonni on Saturday. As a prospect that's right up the road, I'll be tuned to watch Jarren's progression into his junior season.

A 2028 WR that has made some good rounds at D3 camps this summer has been Cretin-Derham Hall's [player_tooltip player_id='1581337' first='Antonio' last='Barajas'] who currently sits as our WR6 in the 2028 class. He was one of the more explosive Minnesota wide receivers in the triple jump during testing and that wasn't the only area where Antonio caught our attention on Saturday afternoon. He showed off as one of the best Minnesota 2028 WRs in attendance, as one that brought his explosiveness we saw early in camp with his growing route-running ability. He's one that shows off fluidity when he gets open space as the 5'11 175 pounder showed that he doesn't need a huge window to show off his hands either. Surely one that has taken advantage of the Minnesota camp circuit with growing camp stock in my eyes.

If we are talking about one of the more explosive offensive linemen we saw during the Indy drills at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp, we are talking about Pierz 2028 offensive linemen Joe Smude. I cannot lie, for a 2028 offensive linemen that I couldn't even find tape on after camp the well-rounded reps I saw out of Joe in the offensive linemen group early in camp were intriguing. He showed off balance in the hands with his strking ability, good footwork, driving leverage, and had one of the longer drives I saw during Indy amongst the OL group. It was kind of wild to see the measurables after camp out of Joe, as for his size I was really impressed with the skillsets he produced in Saint Bonni, as one of the unknowns ahead of camp that had a solid showing in the 2028 group.

Specialist MVP

Brody was one of a handful of Minnesota defensive linemen that caught my attention, and was one of the more impressive one of the 2028 class at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp. The 1v1 reps I got to watch showed off not only the wirey hands you want to see with an inside move, but what stood out most was how sudden he become after he got his hands out with pursuit into the backfield. He showed his consistent speed and pad-level with a few of the 1v1 reps I got to watch as well. Brody also was the center of attention for a bit with the specialists as one of the only long snappers in attendance and what he showed me there was a snapper who got the ball off quickly and was right in the wheelhouse on where he hit his punter for them to quickly get the ball out on those reps I watched. Love the growth I have seen out of this kid since he was at our PRZ Minnesota Showcase a couple years ago!

An 2028 offensive linemen out of Appleton North that's a new name to our Wisconsin radar is [player_tooltip player_id='2238228' first='Zander' last='Osorio'], who surely left his mark in the live eval during 1v1s at the Crown College Prospect Camp. The verified 6'4 322 pounder was one of the more physical forces in the offensive line group on Saturday afternoon and won a ton of reps against the DL group with his powerful hands and great length that he was figuring out how to utilze quickly in those reps. Zander was also more fluid with his footwork than you might expect at that size, as he slowed down a couple inside moves from the DLs he went up against on Saturday. Surely a new name out of Appleton to watch for in the coming years.

TWITTER

Emmett is now the second 2028 prospect out of Albany to catch our radar in recent weeks, this time coming thru at the Crown College Prospect Camp on Saturday. The 6'3 185 pounder, was by far one of the best early testers in the quarterback group. He ran a 4.92 lasered 40-yard dash, 28'4 in the triple jump, 7.63 in the L-drill, and 4.69 in the pro agility which should all show you how rounded this young man is from athletic perspective. Getting to watch Emmett a bit during 1v1s, I felt progressed his stock even higher as he showed a sound amount of growth with his poise and ball placement that was kind of difficult to find on tape from his sophomore season. Surely a 2028 quarterback develping in the right direction this summer.

TWITTER

Another 2027 name that caught my radar at the Crown Elite Prospect Camp was Burnsville offensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id='1588168' first='Sam' last='Liebl']. He's another that might not have the ideal measurables out of this grouping, but the reps I watched during Indy out of Sam were intriguing despite the size profile. The 5'9 235 pounder from Burnsville, showed off quick hands and displayed solid pulling technique when we got to watch Sam get out of his stance, he was one of the more intriguing offensive linemen out of the box. Surely one that's under the radar, but could be a good fit at the D3 level in the UMAC.

Another offensive linemen in the 2027 group from Saturday at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp that caught my eyes during the live eval was Brainerd's [player_tooltip player_id='2238310' first='Jacob' last='Heinrich']. The 5'10 230 pounder wasn't the most sizable offensive line target in attendance, but he made up for it with the violence and the low-pad level he displayed in his 1v1 reps. He had some of the more physical hands that I saw in attendance in the OL group and was well-balanced when it came to watching him from a pad-level perspective. Jacob gave off a blue-collar type hog molly in the offensive trenches that you would expect coming out of the 218 area code. No offers yet, but the D3 attention seems to be growing for this young man.

TWITTER

Best Duo-NYA

One of the more impressive 2027 defensive backs at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp came from Norwood Young America's [player_tooltip player_id='2152810' first='Cole' last='Brinkman'], who didn't take long to catch my attention in the early session during testing. Cole showed off explosive traits during testing with his change of direction for his size, which showed translation to what I saw later at camp. He showed off great length that was well-versed from a ball-tracking perspective in the few reps I watched out of Cole in the DB group during 1v1s. He's one that I wish I got to watch more reps out of him, but the few I did see showed me certainly that this kid can play on Saturdays and better yet for college staffs, he doesn't have any offers as of yet that have been reported.

Best Duo-NYA

There was not a more impressive duo of prospects in Minnesota at the Crown College Elite Prospect Camp than what Nrwood-Young America brought to St. Bonni, as 2027 EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='2129710' first='Jack' last='Kloempken'] was the other 2027 from the Raiders that caught our attention. The 6'3 200 pounder ran a 4.92 40-yard dash on the lasers, 27'4 in the triple jump, 7.47 L-drill, and 4.6 in the pro agility show off the well-roudned athleticism I saw early from Jack. He showed off an explosive get off in the 1v1 reps reps I took in and the persistency with what we saw was noted. Surely an EDGE that has grown his frame and athleticisim since our last eval, but still is awaiting that first offer with a plethora of attention this spring into summer.

Now for the second time this summer during camps, Park Center 2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2126672' first='Joseph' last='Jacobs'] has hit into my notebook. The 6'1 160 pounder, had in my opinion the best catch of Saturday afternoon at the Crown College Prospect Camp. He came back to the ball on an underthrown ball, fought thru heavy contact, and reeled in the catch. He also throughout camp, showed off the long catch radius that he has for his size. I got my eyes on him first at the RTB Minnesota Camp to start off June camp season and the progression has been well-noted as one that I feel is a sleeper in this 2027 class that hasn't caught my radar on accident either as college coaches have caught his attention too, with two offers in the month of June thus far.

QB MVP

Talk about a 2027 quarterback that has taken some big steps forward since our last live eval, as Detroit Lakes [player_tooltip player_id='1659065' first='Jude' last='Houglum'] showed off a ton of growth at the Crown College Prospect Camp and walked out with an offer from the Polars in the end. He exceled on all three-levels with his throws he made in St. Boni, and one of the biggest areas of development for Jude was his ball placement as he gave his WRs ample space to progress their routes upfield with the throws he was able to make. He also took a big step forward with his touch on his throws, as Jude was quite balanced when it came to each route on those three levels with the proper velocity needed.

OL/DL MVP

Dustin has had quite the last few months as far as MVPS go, as he won OL MVP at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Showcase this spring and was nominated by the Crown staff on Saturday as the OL/DL MVP of the camp. Regardless of where Dustin lined up on the offensive line, he was a constant winner in 1v1 reps as one that from the jump of camp, I felt he was the best offensive linemen in attendance based on the attention to detail, bend, and other skillsets we look for when evaluating the hog mollies in a live eval setting. I only counted won rep lost all day, which is superb for the position flexibility he has at the next-level in the offensive trenches. Great pad-level, fiesty yet balanced hands, and you could gauge the football IQ this young has. He got his second NAIA offer after camp from NAIA powerhouse Morningside (IA) and I am sure more incoming over the next month or so.
