It's time to wrap up the off-season camp cycle here in Tennessee this weekend with our final camp of the year, coming to you live from Murfreesboro at Oakland High School. Here we preview what to expect this weekend and what prospects you need to know about going into our "Spring Showcase."

- Our final Prep Redzone Tennessee Showcase is upon us for the 2026 year and by looking at our expected prospect list, it should be another talent filled camp that provides a chance for players to jump under the spotlight and get themselves on the college radar. It's also a good tune-up right before college camp season gets cranked up for prospects to test themselves and see what they must improve prior to the next step of camping.

Offense

- Possibly the most eye balled position at our camps is usually the quarterbacks and this weekend, we should have several talented passers in attendance. The biggest name set to be in Murfreesboro looks to be GCA signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1292341' first='Corbin' last='Hobson']. The Rams 6 '3 strong armed quarterback has the look and size of an eventual college guy along with some of the best arm power within our senior class. This guy is a prime candidate to walk away with camp MVP honors.

Another senior that has my interest this weekend is Goodpasture quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2071467' first='Chase' last='Angell']. The Cougars signal caller is one of the better under the radar prospects from his position that has a chance to boost his stock significantly with strong performances this weekend and into college camps this summer. It will be interesting to see if Angell has improved his arm power while getting bigger overall because I like how he spins it and performs with grit and moxy.

Two rising juniors to keep track of at our Showcase are [player_tooltip player_id='1088646' first='Caleb' last='Sims'] from Peabody and Centennial signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='2170328' first='Paxton' last='Pierce']. Sims is a regular inside our camp circuit that has performed well each time and I expect much of the same this weekend. Pierce is someone that is stepping into a starting role this Fall at Centennial, so it will be interesting to see how he performs in Murfreesboro and what to expect from him this coming season.

Coming down from Kentucky to perform this weekend is someone I think might have a bright future ahead of him. St. Xavier sophomore Austin Jacobsen has the look and feel of a future college pocket passer, as long as he continues to progress at a good rate. Much of the same can be said about [player_tooltip player_id='2207435' first='Patrick' last='Williams Jr']. (Pope Prep) and [player_tooltip player_id='1546805' first='Cade' last='Boldin'] (Waverly) as well. Williams, Jr is someone I am very intrigued by as I see big time talent with him and upside that could flourish on the college level. Playing at a small town school, Boldin has progressed nicely over the past year and could be a sleeper to watch in this camp and throughout the Fall season.

- - - - -

- Our running back group isn't too deep for this Showcase but may have two of the best ball carriers from our in-state junior class in attendance with [player_tooltip player_id='1589943' first='Quincy' last='Mitchell'] from Forrest and Oakland junior [player_tooltip player_id='1868595' first='Jacob' last='Vaughn']. Both these guys attended our Winter Showcase back in January and both had strong performances with Mitchell coming away as our running back MVP. I think both guys are prime contenders for MVP honors this time around and possibly two of the better overall prospects at camp.

Doing our in-state scouting, I can see a scenario where Mitchell might be the best running back prospect we have coming out of the junior class. Even though the Rockets ball carrier only stands about 5 '8, he performs much bigger, providing dynamic, fast running along with great contact balance and vision. Transferring to Oakland for his final two high school years, Vaughn is an athletic guy that provides big play abilities and speed that should flash big time in Murfreesboro this weekend.

- - - - -

- This weekend in Murfreesboro is a big opportunity for several senior wideouts expected in attendance to kick off camp season in the right way. The top ranked senior set to be at our Showcase is [player_tooltip player_id='1629937' first='Kaden' last='Webber']. This 6'2 wideout has steadily gotten better over the past year where he has increased his agility and speed. If the Rams pass catcher can display those enhanced traits this weekend, Webber can take his stock to higher levels. Another guy who runs well that can help his cause is Lincoln Co. senior [player_tooltip player_id='2170010' first='Clint' last='Quick']. The Falcons wideout is a true hidden gem that has excellent junior film. His performance this weekend will go a long way towards getting more eyes on him and potentially boosting his recruitment.

Franklin-Grace senior [player_tooltip player_id='2138257' first='Grayson' last='Degraff'] has the physical tools and traits that college coaches look for and his film shows someone that runs well for his size. If he runs fast at our Showcase while displaying solid route running, not only will his PRZTN rankings potentially rise but I expect coaches to take a longer look at his college upside. Another tall, lanky wideout we will have in Murfreesboro is McKenzie senior [player_tooltip player_id='2071511' first='Avery' last='Brown']. Leading his team in receiving as a junior, Brown is a strong, steady pass catcher that brings red zone abilities to the field but if he can increase his speed, his recruiting profile would look much more appealing.

Landing recent offers from ETSU and UT-Martin, Fulton receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2206154' first='Jamil' last='Smith'] is a guy on the rise that I think can play his way into “Top 100” status by the end of the football year. The Falcons playmaker is dynamic with the ball in his hands that displays breakaway speed. If Smith runs in the 4.4's this weekend, watch his stock take off in a major way. Houston offensive weapon [player_tooltip player_id='1705539' first='Brennen' last='Odle'] is travelling all the way to Mid-Tennessee to put on a show and it's possible he does. The Mustangs senior is a natural athlete that brings a lot of versatility to the field along with the ability to create big plays.

- - - - -

- The O-line group set for this weekend isn't the biggest but there are several upper and underclassmen that can help their stocks grow with strong camp performances. One guy who I think can do so in a significant way is Westview big man [player_tooltip player_id='1773095' first='Jaylen' last='Tisdale']. This West Tennessee product is a long term, potential big pay off player that has the build and athletic profile to form into a possible college offensive tackle down the road.

The interior of the O-line should be represented well at this camp. We have several senior prospects that will be in attendance looking to make a name for themselves and kick start camp season in a big way. A few notable names to know for this weekend include [player_tooltip player_id='905242' first='Caleb' last='Coffman'] (Page), [player_tooltip player_id='2081569' first='Kayden' last='Adams'] (BGA), [player_tooltip player_id='1629118' first='Josh' last='Frensley'] (Westview) and [player_tooltip player_id='2160746' first='Brandon' last='Roy'] from Oak Ridge. A regular at our camps, Coffman is eyeing MVP honors after past strong performances while looking to continue developing headed into the summer camp season.

A versatile interior blocker, Adams just missed our initial “Top 300” rankings but was right there in consideration. The Wildcats senior is a tough competitor with deceptive athleticism that translates well to college at center. Another potential college center is Frensley. A key piece on the interior of the Westview offensive line, Frensley is a compact, strong blocker that displays solid athleticism on film along with the ability to pick up secondary blocks. Oak Ridge is having to re-haul their offensive line and it appears Roy will be a key piece in their transformation. This 6'3 senior has a chance to boost his stock this weekend with strong performances in his testing and 1 on 1 work.

Two underclassmen that have my eye this weekend are [player_tooltip player_id='1090814' first='Mike' last='Ekezie'] from Oakland and sophomore Dakylin Profitt out of Haywood. I see upside with both these guys, especially Ekezie, who I think is on the verge of a breakout junior season. The Pats big man is an athletic, versatile guy that plays tackle for his team but I think translates best in college on the interior. Profitt is someone I don't know too much about right now but the little I do know, the Tomcats rising sophomore has the athletic profile of a future college guy.

- - - - - - - -

Defense

- Moving over to the defensive side of the ball, the trenches will have a nice mix of upperclassmen that can help their stocks grow along with some rising underclassmen that are looking to make an impact at this weekend's Showcase. Possibly the top senior in attendance that has a shot at boosting his stock is Marshall Co. defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1583156' first='Mylan' last='Morris']. This guy has been a multi-year starter for his Tigers team that has steadily gotten better throughout his career. Performing well at this camp will help boost his stock and provide a good starting point going through camp season.

Lewis Co. defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1584096' first='Colby' last='Cates'] has been a regular at our Showcase's and has done well each time. Displaying more explosion and speed at this camp will help his cause a lot and show that Cates is progressing in the right direction. An under the radar D-lineman I'm interested to see is Giles Co. senior [player_tooltip player_id='2129037' first='Devon' last='Wilburn']. Playing both ways for his Bobcats team, Wilburn is looking to stand out on defense at our Showcase and with his 6 '3 size, opportunity is there to excel during our 1 on 1 competition.

The underclassmen set to be at camp this weekend looks good, led by a D1 offered guy in GCA junior [player_tooltip player_id='1038498' first='Will' last='Pasley']. This 6 '2 nose tackle has the girth and overall size to clog up the middle and either stuff the run or provide the occasional pass rush. More work is needed with Pasley but I like the building blocks with him and his potential as a stack blocking nose guard. Another rising junior to know about for this weekend is Munford big man [player_tooltip player_id='1662515' first='Dakota' last='Lumm']. This West Tennessee talent has a chance to become a “Top 20” prospect from his position in the TN2028 class with continued development. Standing out this weekend will help that as well as show how legit Lumm can be.

Two rising sophomores that have my eye for this Showcase are [player_tooltip player_id='1616635' first='Jack' last='Elliott'] from CAK and Owen Jones out of Knox. Central. Both these guys are developmental prospects that need a lot of time to develop their bodies and games but I see potential. Elliott is an active, strong competitor that shows upside setting the edge while having pass rush capabilities. Jones is a prospect that I don't know much about right now but has piqued my interest due to his 6 '3 frame and ability to develop at defensive end.

Photo: CAK EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1616635' first='Jack' last='Elliott']. Taken by lzh_productions on Instagram.

- - - - -

- There is a lot of unknown for the linebacker position going into this Showcase as I don't see many names that pop off the page to me but that doesn't mean somebody won't jump out and perform at a high level. A certain junior that does pique my interest is Watertown linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2055001' first='Colt' last='McConnell']. The Purple Tigers defender has the build and makeup of a potential college guy. Seeing how he tests and performs during drill work and 1 on 1 competition will help in our scouting and give better insight on what kind of player McConnell can be moving forward.

A certain underclassmen that has my attention for this Showcase is Meigs Co. rising sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1294853' first='Lee' last='Parris']. This East Tennessee linebacker looks like the next top recruit to come out of the Tigers program but he is still far from a finished product. It will be interesting to see how Parris tests, how he runs in this camp because if he runs fast, his stock immediately jumps up. It will also be key to see how he does in pass coverage because Parris isn't asked to do that too much at Meigs Co., so displaying his athleticism and mobility will be important.

- - - - -

- Some of the best talent you will find at our Spring Showcase comes from the defensive backfield. There are few guys here that are big time college prospects and show the potential to become impact players on the next level. Two seniors immediately stand out when looking over the registration list and that is [player_tooltip player_id='2082939' first='Hill' last='Strong'] from Brentwood Academy and Alcoa senior [player_tooltip player_id='1617434' first='Mason' last='Laster']. Both these guys are current “Top 150” prospects inside our senior rankings and both have a chance to raise their stock with solid camp performances and strong senior years.

Currently ranked as our 89th overall prospect, Strong is an athletic, rangy safety that shows the range and speed on film that translates very well to the college game. It will be interesting to see how he performs, how he runs at this camp because I love the tools here and upside to become an impact safety in college. Laster could be the top nickelback prospect within our senior class. If this East Tennessee product was two inches taller, he would be thought of much higher and have Power Four programs knocking down his door.

There are two underclassmen set to perform this weekend that I am very familiar with and think they have a future on the college stage. Dickson Co. safety [player_tooltip player_id='2148586' first='Max' last='Greene'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1704649' first='Jayden' last='Lanier'] from Mt. Pleasant are two legit prospects that bring athleticism, size and ball skills to the defensive backfield that scream college potential. Greene is a ball hawk on the back end that runs well while Lanier is a versatile player that could develop at multiple positions, including cornerback.

One guy from out of state to know about for this weekend is Sam Dick. Hailing from Hewitt-Trussville down in Alabama, Dick is an athletic, versatile junior safety that shows on film the ability to run and cover, displaying nice range and solid ball skills. Seeing how he performs this weekend will help his stock a ton in front of college coaches and scouts as well as continue to build himself into one of the better safety prospects coming out of the Alabama 2028 recruiting class.

Even with all the prospects mentioned above, I expect others to step forward and have strong camp performances in Murfreesboro this weekend. I expect some new names to come out of the shadows and into the spotlight after this weekend and not only jump on our radar but potentially college coaches well. It looks to be another strong Showcase for us here in Tennessee and an opportunity for prospects to develop further and help build their recruiting stocks.

Photo: Alcoa DB [player_tooltip player_id='1617434' first='Mason' last='Laster'] at the state championship game.
