I wasn't intending for this piece to be part of a series. It's turned out that way, however. The first three parts have been linked above.

It'd been a minute since I checked on the recruitments of prospects in Iowa's 2027 Class. It was time to update their processes.

Here's a closer look at five talented guys still searching for college homes:

[player_tooltip player_id='1617665' first='Bubba' last='Donald'], OL, Cedar Rapids Prairie

Announced offers: None.

The Situation: Donald has always stood out for his size, which resulted in early attention from colleges. The Prairie lineman was hearing from Minnesota, Iowa State, North Dakota, Drake, Western Michigan and others before the start of his junior season.

Donald visited a St. Thomas junior day in late January. He stopped at Drake in early February. He'd received invites from programs across divisions and also talked with them at Prairie. Surprisingly, he's yet to announce a scholarship offer.

Having scouted Donald live in each of the last two seasons, I'm confident in saying he's developing. He's also 6-foot-6, 340 pounds and packed with potential. He could stick at tackle or kick inside. That he's agile and athletic enough for that to be a possibility speaks to his upside.

Donald has been invited to upcoming camps at St. Thomas, Minnesota State, North Alabama and Washburn. He should attend as many camps as possible because I think that will lead offers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1654038' first='Gage' last='Greenfield'], OL, Sibley-Ocheyedan

Announced offers: Dordt.

The Situation: Greenfield jumped onto my radar way back in the summer of 2023, when he stood out as one of the younger participants at the Iowa Hawkeye offensive lineman camp. He was back in Iowa City again the following year for the event. He also camped with South Dakota State that year. In '25, he was back at SDSU for a junior day, Kansas State visited with him at school, he was invited to a camp at Michigan, and camped again with the Hawkeyes and Jackrabbits.

Dordt finally came through with Greenfield's first college football opportunity with an offer on March 21. He has since been invited to camps at national champion Indiana and North Alabama.

Colleges could do a lot worse than getting a look at the 6-5, 325-pound Greenfield in camp this summer. You can't teach size, for one. And the senior-to-be has a ways to go before reaching a sizable ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id='1925128' first='Jackson' last='Reis'], TE/DE, Dallas Center-Grimes

Announced offers: South Dakota.

The Situation: A group of programs extended game-day invitations to Reis this past fall. The Dallas Center-Grimes athlete took Iowa State, Northwest Missouri State and North Dakota State up this offers. In December, he spoke with Iowa, Kansas State and Northern Iowa at his school. The next month, Iowa State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, Wayne State and Morningside visited with him at DCG. He visited Drake on Feb. 1.

Junior day invites also arrived from the Bison, the Jackrabbits, St. Thomas, Sioux Falls, Wayne State, Bemidji State, Southwest Minnesota State, Western Illinois and others. On Feb. 12, South Dakota became his first scholarship offer. He visited the Coyotes on March 22, and then stopped at Northwest Missouri State and Northern Iowa this spring.

Reis recently has met with Iowa, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, Illinois State, Sioux Falls, St. Thomas and Pittsburgh State at his school. North Dakota State and St. Thomas have invited him to camps.

A versatile athlete with position flexibility, Reis sports a projectable frame capable of filling out in a college strength and conditioning program without the loss of any agility and athleticism. He's definitely a prospect with a lot of upside that should be receiving more college opportunities relative to potential.

[player_tooltip player_id='2048995' first='Logan' last='Van Den Broek'], WR/TE, Pella

Announced offers: Sioux Falls.

The Situation: Van Den Broek has long been one of the more interesting athletes in Iowa's 2027 Class. He won his conference's high jump championship last spring as a sophomore, and ended up fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Class 3A state meet. This year, he took fourth in that event at the Drake Relays.

The former Iowa State staff recognized the athleticism transferring over to the football field. It brought him in for a game-day visit last season. The new Cyclone coaches spoke with him at Pella in January. Iowa, North Dakota State and South Dakota State also dropped by the school that month.

Van Den Broek took junior day visits to Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Northern Iowa, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Missouri, Lindenwood, Southern Illinois, Miami (OH) and Iowa State. During the last few weeks, South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Iowa State visted him at Pella. Sioux Falls became the first program to offer him a scholarship when it did so last week.

As documented, Van Den Broek (6-5, 200) is a gifted athlete just beginning to scratch the surface of what he can be on the gridiron. That might end up meaning a dangerous X receiver or a matchup nightmare at tight end. Colleges are sleeping on this kid.

[player_tooltip player_id='2086365' first='Owen' last='Gasperi'], TE/DE, Ankeny Centennial

Announced offers: Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western State, Augustana University, Sioux Falls.

The Situation: A late bloomer, or at least a prospect college programs were behind in recruiting, Gasperi saw his process pick up after a junior season at Ankeny Centennial, where he flashed upside from a 6-foot-5, 200-pound frame. St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Northwest Missouri State, Northwestern College, Sioux Falls, Washburn, Wayne State, Lindenwood and others invited him to junior days.

Gasperi ended up taking in junior days at St. Thomas, South Dakota State and Northwest Missouri State, the Bearcats becoming the first school to offer a scholarship when it did so during that stop. South Dakota and North Dakota dropped by Centennial this spring. Missouri Western State, Augustana University and Sioux Falls have reportedly offered scholarships in the last few months.

With limited reps at the high school level, it would benefit Gasperi to camp with colleges during the next few months. His speed and athleticism, along with his projectable frame, create upside a lot of programs at the next level like to bet on.
