Playing the opposite tight end spot of recently tabbed Power 4 prospect Cade Newman, Owen Gasperi Owen Gasperi 6'4" | 220 lbs | TE/DL Ankeny Centennial | 2027 State IA has rightfully gotten some attention of his own this offseason.
A speedy, pass-catching tight end that moves with a purpose, Gasperi has strong hands and a wide catch radius that affords him the opportunity to go get difficult catches. His ability to change direction as a route-runner and when the play breaks down gives him chances to get open and go make a play, too. Having his speed and change of direction at 6-foot-4 and 220-pounds is impressive. A solid blocker out of the backfield, too, the 2027 prospect could fill an H-back role in a Shanahan-style offense, as well.
Gasperi holds D2 offers from Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Western and Sioux Falls. He’s also received a D1 offer from St. Thomas.

An injury kept it from being a complete season for Gasperi during 2025. The junior did catch eight balls for 84 yards and a touchdown. Four of his 5.5 tackles were of the solo variety. Despite missing time, Gasperi shows us during his 11th-grade highlight video that the potential is there for him to have a bright future on the next level. Working as an H-Back for the Jaguars, he’s quick off of the line whether getting into a route or blowing up a defender in the running game. He’s agile and athletic with speed that the opposition finds difficult keeping up with. Gasperi is an interesting prospect that would benefit by camping with colleges this coming summer.
