That Beachem pulled it off in a pivotal 27-0 win against previously unbeaten Ankeny on Friday made the feat all that much more impressive. On top of the defensive heroics, the Johnston senior hauled in nine passes for 98 yards and had a 12-yard punt return. A Northern Iowa pledge, Beachem is one of the state's top two-way contributors, a notable accomplishment operating in the Iowa's largest classification of schools. I scouted him at Liberty earlier this season. Beachem is solidly put together with room to fill out and add strength in college. The Bobcats moved to 5-1 Friday with a 31-0 victory at North Scott. Bergfeld impacted the contest in all three phases. The Iowa State commitment rushed for 138 yards (9.2 YPC) and two touchdowns, ranked second on the squad in total tackles and solo stops, and averaged 44.5 yards on a pair of punts. Bergfeld is a tremendous overall athlete that also stands out in track and field. He's an up-tempo player on the gridiron capable of delivering big plays whenever the ball is snapped. The Tigers' latest success story was a 56-24 win against visiting Greene County on Friday. Malik is one of the better kept secrets in the state when it comes to the recruiting trail. The senior is being woefully under-pursued by colleges based on upside. He showed that again with 200 yards (12.5 YPC) and five touchdowns rushing. Malik also caught a pass for 29 yards and his only punt was for 53 yards. The performance highlighted his overall skills and high-end athleticism. Malik shines as a running back in high school, and that could be his future on the next level. Murdock, Prep Redzone Iowa's top-ranked quarterback in the 2028 Class, has been instrumental in the success. As he has for the last few years, the junior stood out on both sides of the ball during Friday's 40-6 victory at South Tama County. Murdock completed 8 of 11 throws for 163 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. He rushed for 37 yards (6.2 YPC) and a pair of scores. On defense, Murdock delivered a solo tackle and picked off a pass. He's a developing quarterback with high-end athleticism and speed. Kramer rushed 107 yards (8.2 YPC) and two touchdowns. The junior added 3.0 tackles (2 solo, 1.0 TFL) and a sack on defense. The Saints fell in last year's Class A title game but have bounced back for a 6-0 start to 2026. Once again, Schwiesow is at the controls behind center. The junior was effective and efficient during Friday's 54-0 win against Postville. He completed 8 of 12 passes for 101 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. Schwiesow also delivered a pair of picks and three solo tackles on defense. He's a really good all-around athlete that would make plays no matter where he lined up. The Vikings improved to 6-0 on the campaign with Miller once again impacting the action in all three phases. The junior rushed four times for 89 yards and three touchdowns. He registered 4.0 tackles with a pair of stops for loss. Miller also delivered a 54-yard punt return for a score, was 10 for 10 on point-after TD kicks and booted two touchbacks. Miller's Hudl page houses basketball highlights but there aren't any football clips. We look forward to checking them out. His success in other sports would be beneficial on the gridiron.
