We kicked off our Triad Deep Dives series on Monday by breaking down the best quarterbacks in Forsyth County and in Guilford County. Often, good passers mean good receiving groups, but with so much inexperience at the quarterback position, several teams in the area will rely on veteran receivers to simplify the offense and give themselves easy wins. Here, we're looking at six talented wide receivers in Forsyth County.

Cepeda had a great junior year as a secondary target for the Eagles. This year, he could have an even bigger impact. The Eagles lose their leading rusher, leading receiver, and quarterback, so Cepeda is the top returning playmaker. The speedy receiver who operates both outside and in the slot has the potential to put up huge numbers as a senior.

It was shocking that Grimes didn't score a touchdown last season, given his athletic profile and target share, but that should change in 2026, likely quite quickly. He has a rare blend of size, speed, and route-running ability, and the combination gives him the profile of a potential breakout candidate. That means he's capable of putting up huge numbers on a deep receiving corps at West Forsyth.

West Forsyth's passing offense should once again click, as it's one of the more balanced attacks in the state. We don't know how the target share will pan out, especially with a new signal caller at the helm, but Moore was the leading receiver last year for the Titans, with just over 500 yards and three touchdowns. He has a nice athletic profile with the speed to break off huge plays.

Gist did a little bit of everything for Bishop McGuinness last season, and his ranking is purely as a receiver. The rising junior did a lot of his damage after the catch, either on designed screens or on shorter throws over the middle, where his speed and elusiveness are both on full display.

A two-way athlete, Marrow plays in the slot on offense for West Forsyth. As a receiver, I really like the way he drives into his breaks and disguises his routes. He has great speed, and his frame isn't as lean as his height and weight would suggest. That allows him to fight through contact and make contested catches.

Davis is a gadget guy with a unique route tree. He's almost always in motion, and he'll line up in the slot, in the backfield, or really wherever the Reagan coaching staff thinks he presents a mismatch for the defense. Accordingly, his pure receiving stats aren't what some of these other guys have put up, but he also contributes as a rusher and as a guy who can spread out the defense, draw defenders out of the box, and create space for the running game.
