Bergen Catholic has become synonymous with New Jersey High School football and the hallways of the prestigious school have been home to countless Division 1 and NFL football players. Names from the past such as 2009 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Brian Cushing and current Washington Commanders Defensive End Javontae Jean-Baptiste were Crusaders. Current highly sought-after recruits such as [player_tooltip player_id='836216' first='Jackson' last='Vaughn'] (No.1 2028 prospect in New Jersey), Amiir Wodward (No.3 2028 prospect in New Jersey) and [player_tooltip player_id='432446' first='Adrian' last='Woodward'] (No.5 2028 prospect in New Jersey), too. Below is a look at the class of 2030 prospects that have been confirmed to be attending BC in the fall.

Cottone, a Bergen County Junior Football League All-Star in 2025, is a long, lean signal caller who brings dual-threat ability to the position. Operated nearly exclusively of shot gun this past season and appears most comfortable when he has room to move around. On film he looks to have very impressive close proximity quickness and unassuming speed when he gets going. The comparison to Daniel Jones works because he doesn't necessarily fit the mold of a mobile QB with how long he is, but before defenses realize it, he's five yards past the Safety and on his way to the end zone. With that said, it's those same nimble feet that are an area for improvement. He tends to make a lot of throws with unsettled feet and the ball doesn't get there with enough zip. However, when he does set his feet and throws the ball, the arm strength is very noticeable.

Tarone is coming off a 2025 season where he reclassed back from the class of 2029 to the class of 2030 and spent time with two teams. His comparison to Baker Mayfield is about as accurate as it gets when it comes to current NFL Quarterbacks, in my opinion. He can scramble and pick up yards if he needs to, but his pocket presence and arm are the attention-grabbers here. He can really sling it and deliver the ball on a frozen rope. Like Mayfield, he's got a bit of gunslinger in him and has a ton of confidence in his ability to fit the ball into any type of window. He's a self-reported 5-foot-10 and 160-pounds but I'm not sold on that based off his him. However, what I am sold on, is the fact that he plays the game with a dog-like attitude and isn't afraid to bark to let people know.

Fans of Bergen Catholic athletics, and general New Jersey HS football fans should remember the name Josh McKenzie. McKenzie, who resided down the shore in Wall, graduated from BC in 2019 and was a four-year starter in both football and wrestling; Earning All-State honors in both sports before heading to Yale to play football. Enter [player_tooltip player_id='1538024' first='Gavin' last='Anderson']. Anderson also resides in Wall and like McKenzie, is also a stellar football player and wrestler. During his youth career he was selected to the Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Stars, and this past season he was a big reason for St. James reaching the Pop Warner Super Bowl. He enters high school significantly bigger than McKenzie did and could ultimately end up shining brightest as a Linebacker or in the Secondary, in addition to contributions as a Running Back.

Like fellow incoming Bergen Catholic freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1538024' first='Gavin' last='Anderson'], the Crusaders are getting another stud in both football and wrestling, in [player_tooltip player_id='2074309' first='Nico' last='Santoli']. Santoli has an interesting back story and deep ties to the Bergen County institution. Before the age of two, he was diagnosed with -and later beat-- Unilateral Retinoblastoma, a rare childhood Cancer of the eye. An emotional feat that is well documented by the way his parents helped raise awareness about the disease. His Dad, Dominic, was the 1998-1999 New Jersey Defensive Player of the Year at Bergen Catholic and currently coaches football at the school, in addition to serving as the Head Coach of the Wrestling program. As that pertains to Nico now, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He was one of five Cards selected for the BCJFL All-Star Game this past season and was nothing short of stellar on both sides of the ball in that game.

The second of three Park Ridge Owls that have announced their commitment to Bergen Catholic next year, Arroyave will bring some flexibility in terms of personnel and scheme. This past season Arroyave did play on the offensive side of the ball as a Running Back, but appears to make a much bigger impact on the defensive side of the ball. The Owls used a 5-3 defense, highlighting how much the coaches trusted the speed and athleticism of their Linebackers and Defensive Backs. Therein lies the versatility of Arroyave, as he's somewhere between a Linebacker and Defensive Back at this point. Right now seems ideal as a Nickelback. However where he ends up will be dependent on how his size and speed develops.

Pisani's Dad, Doug, was a '98 graduate and earned an NNJIL-Atlantic Honorable Mention nod following his Senior season as a Guard. As for the future Crusader, he looks destined to be playing on the defensive side of the ball. He self-reports himself at 5-foot-9 and 150-pounds and that looks accurate based off what I've seen. While he did make a number of nice plays as a Tight End on the offensive side of the ball, the strength of his game is his ability to get after the Quarterback. He's currently somewhere between an Outside Linebacker and an Edge rusher with a ton of upside. He's very fast off the snap, gets into the backfield quickly and appears to have a pretty impressive wingspan at this time.

The second of three Westwood Cardinals headed to 1040 Oradell Avenue next fall, DiBlasi looks like a future stud at the Running Back position. DiBlasi enters high school with a muscular build on his 5-foot-8, 150-pounds frame. This past January the do-it-all 'Back was a standout at the New Jersey Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp, where he was clocked at a 4.72 in the forty and recorded an 8-foot broad jump. As he continues to grow, if his breakaway speed continues to rival and/or surpass his quick-burst and acceleration -- it's going to be a long four years for opposing defenses.

Set to dawn the scarlet and gold colors of BC in the fall, Moses is the rare combination of speed and strength that made him nearly impossible to cover during the 2025 season. In the quick game he takes simple screens and can go the distance; On the contrary, he can take the top off the defense before in the blink of an eye.

In my opinion, Crawford is one of the most exciting class of 2030 playmakers in the entire state of New Jersey. The comparison to Travis Hunter is justified by the fact that Crawford has routinely displayed his ability to make big plays on both sides of the ball, throughout his youth career. Coming from the Brick City Lions youth program, he knows what competition looks and feels like, day-in and day-out. As special as he was on the offensive side of the ball, I think he's going to be a stud in the defensive secondary at any position they put him at.

He instead opted to train and prepare his body for the next level -- which by all accounts he has done. As a member of the Dark Knights football program in 2024 he showed impressive speed as a RB, WR and DB. As he's set to transition into high school, all the training has began to pay dividends, as Chadwick PR'd in the 55M (6.85) and 200M (22.89) this past indoor track season. The Plainfield native will focus on the Defensive Back position, just like his brother Cam Chadwick who transferred from UConn to Virginia Tech this past off-season.

Like several other of his future teammates, [player_tooltip player_id='2129994' first='Jaaziah' last='Lawrence'] didn't play football this past season, as he took a reclass year and got ready for the next chapter. At 6-foot-1 and 160-pounds, he is very high cut with extremely long arms and legs on a shorter torso. It should come as little surprise that he's also a talented basketball player and despite the Courtland Sutton comparison above, the closest comparison may be to that of Kevin Durant (NBA) with his length. On film, he doesn't show explosive speed or acceleration at this point, but he's a long strider and obviously has some hops to win 50/50 jump balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='2143846' first='Shea' last='Corcoran'] | Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - A product of the Tenafly Tigers, my biggest takeaway on Corcoran is his overall speed and quickness. While I don't feel he's the most battle-tested of kids getting ready to enter BC, I think his burst and acceleration are going to catch some people sleeping a bit. Similar to some of the Running Backs above, there is obvious room for physical maturation here, but he flashes a bit on film.

Bergen County native [player_tooltip player_id='2075605' first='Carrigh' last='Rutledge'] may be the biggest sleeping giant in this group of future Crusaders. Currently standing a reported 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, Rutledge was one of the biggest prospects selected for the BCJFL All-Star Game this past season and started at both Right Guard and Defensive Line. In that game he played very well on both sides of the ball, but what sticks out most, is that he lived every lineman's dream by scooping up a fumble and was about to cross the goal line to score a touchdown, but was stripped a la Don Beebe/Leon Lett in Super Bowl XXVII (minus the premature celebration). As for his future, the ceiling is exceptionally high. Most linemen entering high school need a fair amount of development and Rutledge is no different. However, most linemen in high school don't have a frame and potential like Rutledge. Stay tuned here.

Being completely transparent, I don't have a ton of information about Tejada coming out of his youth football career with Teaneck. Furthermore, this is very little film available on Tejada and doubling down on it, none of that film is public. However, based off the very little I've seen, Tejada has the potential to be a disruptive force on both sides of the ball. He tells me he's in the neighborhood of 6-foot and 260-280 pounds and looks at home on the interior defensive line. He's a wider body with good explosion off the snap. I look forward to seeing how he develops.

No matter how this BC 2030 class is broken down, sorted or organized, [player_tooltip player_id='1855770' first='Malachi' last='Thomas'] is a prospect that has to have Coach Campanile excited for the future. Thomas comes from the same Orange Bengals youth program as his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1853924' first='Auquan' last='Moses'], meaning the pair will continue on together. In Thomas, the Crusaders are getting a prospect who lists himself at 6-foot-2 and 185-pounds and that size appears to be pretty accurate. He has the size, speed and frame to become a very talented high school football prospect;. He gets the athlete designation because he truly appears as if he can play any number of position(s) from Wide Receiver and Tight End, to Linebacker or Edge. In New Jersey it's essentially sacrilegious to compare Bergen and Bosco, but Thomas reminds me a lot of how [player_tooltip player_id='431426' first='Mikahi' last='Allen'] was viewed coming out youth ball.

Having watched [player_tooltip player_id='1561090' first='Amare' last='Roy'] over the last two seasons, this past season in 2025 being a reclass year for him, he quickly established himself as one of the youth players in all of South Jersey. On the offensive side of the ball, Roy has played Quarterback throughout his youth football career. Following a six-touchdown game and MVP performance earlier this season, Roy stated that he models game after Lamar Jackson and Jaxson Dart -- and that is very apparent. He has the same long, sinewy build as both the signal callers he mentioned, plus he's very scary on the run. He was clocked at a 5.07 in the forty in January at the PRZ Next Middle School camp and seemingly plays faster than that time would indicate. Now, he gets the ATH/QB designation because he's also a wrestler and can play lockdown defense. I've seen it with my own eyes and have had coaches tell me that they think he could be a very talented Outside Linebacker or Safety as he continues to develop. He's another prospect worth really keepin an eye on.

Cody Henderson | Edge/Tight End - To my knowledge, Henderson is the only prospect headed to Bergen Catholic from outside the New Jersey state line. Henderson is set to be a Crusader after wrapping up an excellent youth program with famed Harlem Jets out of New York City. He lists himself at 6-foot-1 and 205-pounds right now and can really move for a prospect of that size. Look for him to possibly play some Tight End, but I think he could really separate himself as a do-it-all type of Defensive Lineman/Edge rusher that can stay on the field in any situation.

There is zero film via a Google search or social media for Dissler, but with the little I have seen, he certainly appears undersized for a Defensive Lineman. This year's group of eighth-graders were no different and Mike Martino led the charge at QB.
