2029 Rankings Release: WR/TE

As we approach the 2026 high school football offseason, we are wrapping up our latest round of rankings update. To finish off the rankings update, we have a new class rankings release! Our debut Top 100 rankings for the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky has been officially posted. With these rankings being released, I will be taking the next couple weeks to break them down by position. After already covering the quarterbacks and running backs, here are our top wide receivers/tight ends in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky.    [player_tooltip player_id='868213' first='Alex' last='Decker'] played a key role in the Somerset offense as a freshman, catching 25 passes for 376 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games. He is very reliable in jump ball/contested catch situations, using his athleticism to attack passes at their highest point and strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Decker has also shown the ability to use his speed to create separation in the deep passing game. Alex will be a wide receiver prospect worth keeping an eye on as his role in the Somerset offense continues to grow over the next few seasons.     [player_tooltip player_id='2064821' first='Michael' last='Crigler'] finished his freshman year as the Eagles' leading receiver, hauling in 40 passes for 607 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games. Crigler is an impressive route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation while also showing the ability to settle into openings in coverage to provide an open target for his quarterback. He has proven to be a reliable deep threat, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease. Michael also ran the ball three times for 57 yards as a freshman, and recorded 26 tackles and a team-high three interceptions on defense. Crigler is a player who I expect college coaches to be keeping a close eye on heading into his sophomore year.     [player_tooltip player_id='868412' first='David' last='Lawless'] made an immediate impact as a freshman, finishing the year with 15 receptions for 294 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games. He is a very athletic receiver with a high catch radius, showing the ability to attack the ball at its highest point and make catches away from his body, regardless of what type of coverage is around him. Lawless is also impressive after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes/screens into big gains. David will be a player to keep a close eye on moving forward as he continues to develop.     [player_tooltip player_id='2064824' first='Noah' last='Hawkins'] is another Bethlehem receiver who made a big impact as a freshman. He finished this past season with 20 receptions for 341 yards and four touchdowns in nine games. Hawkins has explosive speed which he uses to run by opposing defensive backs with ease in the deep passing game. He is also a skilled route runner, showing the ability to use smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. Noah also made an impact on defense as a freshman, finishing the year with 40 tackles. Hawkins will be a player worth keeping an eye on over the next three seasons.     To wrap up our top five receivers in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='1796954' first='Mylan' last='Peters']. Peters played a key role in the Danville offense as a freshman, catching 12 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games. Mylan does a great job of using his quick release followed by an impressive burst of speed to create separation from opposing defensive backs with ease. He is also very reliable in jump ball situations, using his athleticism to out jump most opposing defenders along with his strong hands to bring in catches through contact. Peters also ran the ball three times for 57 yards and made impact on defense, finishing this past season with 30 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two sacks. Mylan will be a player to pay close attention to as his role in the Danville offense continues to grow moving forward.     [player_tooltip player_id='1311369' first='Brayden' last='Walsh'] separated himself as the top tight end in the state in his class this season. He proved to be a very reliable target in the passing game. Walsh is a skilled route runner, using sudden breaks in this routes to create separation. He also showed the ability to use his speed and strength as a ball carrier to pick up yards after the catch. Brayden finished his freshman year with six receptions for 77 yards in 12 games. Walsh is a player who I expect to gain a lot of attention as he continues to develop.     [player_tooltip player_id='1295700' first='Everest' last='Whitaker'] is a player who caught my attention when breaking down freshman year film. He is a very athletic tight end who is impressive with the ball in his hands in open space. Whitaker has the speed to run away from the defense and the elusiveness to make defenders miss after the catch to pick up extra yards in a hurry. He has also shown the speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. Everest is a player who I am very interested to see how big of an impact he makes once he starts seeing more variety reps and targets.     The third and final tight end who made our initial Top 100 for the class of 2029 in Kentucky is [player_tooltip player_id='1666462' first='Cooper' last='Quaglio']. Quaglio played in mainly a JV/reserve role but he put together some impressive freshman year film. He is a very reliable threat in the deep passing game as he is able to use his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease. Quaglio also does a great job of using his concentration to look passes in over his shoulder and adjust to the ball when necessary to make catches in stride. Cooper is another tight end who I am very intrigued by as he moves up to the varsity level and continues to develop.
