made an immediate impact as a freshman, finishing the year with 15 receptions for 294 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games. He is a very athletic receiver with a high catch radius, showing the ability to attack the ball at its highest point and make catches away from his body, regardless of what type of coverage is around him. Lawless is also impressive after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes/screens into big gains. David will be a player to keep a close eye on moving forward as he continues to develop.

has been a name to know since he was in the sixth grade. Lawless has good height and should start to blossom when the muscle and weight starts to be added to his frame. Look for him to potentially make an impact as a Safety too.

Without question, Lawless is, and has been, one of the most explosive 2029 Wide Receivers in Kentucky. No matter the stage, Lawless steps up and shows off his ability to make a big play happen at any time. I most recently saw him during the KYMSGA Battle of the Regions tournament in March and he was one of the main weapons on Region 2.

It took until the final minutes of the consolation game for Lawless to finally get in the end zone this weekend, but forget the stats. In my eyes, he solidified himself as one of the most explosive players in Kentucky for this 2029 class. Shifty, speedy kid who picked up some great YAC yards on several of his grabs. He’s a bit of a Swiss Army knife and was used in End-arounds, jet sweeps and was targeted several times through the air. It was clear Region 2 knew the weapon they had in Lawless. They did whatever they could in an attempt to get he ball into the playmaker’s hands.

, a defensive back that caught my attention down the stretch. Lawless showcased outstanding coverage in the backfield, proving he can easily wrap up receivers and shut down the passing game. With excellent breakaway speed and a solid wingspan, Lawless made a difference with his ability to stop the deep pass.
