While the Prep Redzone Next Showcase in Nashville over the weekend placed a primary focus on prospects in the 2030 class, there were a handful of prospects in the 2031 class that had strong showings throughout the event as well.

Several of the seventh grade participants stepped up to the occasion by reaching a new level and standing out against players that were in an age class ahead of them, posting strong results in the athletic and competitive testing measurements.

Here are some prospects in the 2031 class with solid potential to get an early jump on.

KY 2031 OL [player_tooltip player_id='1306180' first='Brady' last='Parker']

One could argue that offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1306180' first='Brady' last='Parker'] was the best trench player in attendance and he elevated to the top of an absolutely loaded group of talent along the line of scrimmage.

He already has good size and he knows how to use it to move people at the point of attack and in setting his anchor. He has good athleticism that allows him to get to the point of attack first and take away the edge from defensive ends that are pass rushing.

He was one of the top overall players in attendance and has a very bright future ahead of him. He will be a prospect to know in the state of Kentucky for a very, very long time.

TN 2031 LB [player_tooltip player_id='2111934' first='Jaxon' last='McCoy']

[player_tooltip player_id='2111934' first='Jaxon' last='McCoy'] is an exciting young player that actually took home the MVP for the linebacker position.

He tested well in the athletic testing to complement good size for his age at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. He was among the top participants in each drill, especially the pro shuttle (4.93 seconds) and broad jump (7 feet 4 inches).

He was an effective leader at the second level of the defense this season for Brentwood Academy's middle school team and should take another step forward with another year to get even bigger, stronger and more explosive. He will be a prospect to keep an eye on for the future as he enters his eighth grade season.

TN 2031 LB [player_tooltip player_id='1590892' first='Elijah' last='Lansden']

[player_tooltip player_id='1590892' first='Elijah' last='Lansden'] caught my attention in a 7-on-7 tournament recently with his natural length, athleticism and ability to adjust on the fly during the event. My hope was to see that translate again during this past weekend and that was certainly the case.

At 5-foot-10 and 159 pounds with a long wingspan, he has the potential to pack on a lot of weight to his strong frame without losing his athletic nature. He actually was elite in the athletic testing to prove that point even further, finishing fifth in the three cone and eighth in the pro shuttle.

He got beat a time or two at the start by the top running back in attendance, but took the coaching and was lights out from that point forward. Everything I saw in the 7-on-7 tournament was validated in the Prep Redzone Next Exposure Camp.

KY 2031 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1675205' first='Hudson' last='Martin']

If you want to discuss raw explosiveness testing, then receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1675205' first='Hudson' last='Martin'] is the prospect that you need to know. While measuring in with good size for his age at 5-foot-10, he was fifth in the 40-yard dash and 10th in the broad jump.

As he naturally keeps getting bigger and even more explosive, he could be a tough cover at the high school level with his combination of raw size and speed. He has shown some double moves and efficient route running that suggest he could develop into a very well-rounded receiver prospect for his class.

He will be a prospect to watch entering high school after this eighth grade season he has on the horizon.
