The class of 2028 recruitments are starting to heat up with visits getting set up and schools seeing players in person at their schools. We caught up with some of the best junior prospects in the state to get the latest on their recruitments.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='422465' first='Matthew' last='Lee'] (Loyola)

Lee will be in contention for the top QB in this class. He is ultra smooth with everything he does as a passer. He attended games this past season at Ohio State, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Vanderbilt. Lee went to Michigan during his freshman season. Wisconsin offered him this past summer. The Loyola QB plans on getting out to some SEC and ACC programs along with Notre Dame.

QB [player_tooltip player_id='971616' first='Marion' last='Persich'] (La Salle Peru)

Persich is a dual sport athlete that is also a very good hoops player. A stud QB that had a big sophomore year. Both in-state Big 10 programs are showing interest early in the process in Northwestern and Illinois.

Edmon is a standout sophomore back that as a sophomore was one of the most productive running backs in the state. The top 10 prospect visited Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Illinois during the fall. Ohio University along with Ole Miss (under Kiffin) had extended offers. He says that Tennessee is in the most consistent contact. He would like to get out to Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Michigan State. Minnesota and Indiana are starting to monitor him as well.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='974585' first='Jordan' last='McKinley'] (Loyola)

McKinley is a man child! The massive pass catcher from Loyola reminds us so much of AJ Brown at the high school level. During the season the 2028 standout got out to Indiana, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Northwestern, and Ohio State for game day visits. He holds offers right now from Wisconsin, Iowa State, and Nebraska. On which schools are showing him the most love he said, “I feel like Northwestern and Illinois are the two main ones as when I visited made me feel the most welcomed and appreciated. Both were amazing experiences.”

WR [player_tooltip player_id='974884' first='Gregory' last='Bess-Henning II'] (Carmel)

Bess-Henning broke out as a sophomore with one of the top signal callers in state throwing to him. Emerged among best wide receivers in class. He took visits to Miami (FL), Illinois, and Northwestern for games this fall. Miami has been heavily involved early in the process. He plans on getting out for visits to Kansas, Wisconsin, Miami, Notre Dame, Nebraska, and Iowa.

WR Logan Thompson (Althoff)

Thompson tells Redzone that in the fall he took trips to Missouri and Tennessee. The standout wide receiver holds offers from Iowa State, Mizzou, Tennessee, Toledo, and Miami (OH). The school making him a priority early in the process is Tennessee and he plans on visiting the Volunteers soon.

TE [player_tooltip player_id='1682020' first='Jack' last='McNamara'] (Brother Rice)

The 6'5” 235 pound tight end is one of the best prospects in the class. In the fall he took trips to Purdue, Notre Dame, Indiana, Illinois, and Georgia. He has 16 offers right now including Notre Dame, Indiana, Northwestern, Oregon, Texas, and Texas A&M. He says the three making him the biggest priority are Notre Dame, Illinois, and Purdue.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1688538' first='Jameer' last='Miles'] (Carmel)

Miles is a rangy linebacker that emerged as a sophomore. He took game day visits to Indiana, Iowa, and Nebraska. He currently holds offers from Ohio State, Nebraska, Iowa, and Indiana. Also added a new one from Oklahoma on Thursday night.

ATH Grant Bowen (IC Catholic)

Bowen had a breakout season for IC Catholic where he showed P4 upside on both sides of the ball. Colleges are noticing as he has taken visits to Iowa and Northwestern for games in recent months. Currently holds offers from Iowa, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. He is in the process of setting up visits.
