Not only is this a rematch of a week one clash but it's another playoff meeting between Lincoln Christian and Heritage Hall. Since 2018, these two teams have met in the playoffs seven times in either the championship game or semifinal round. Lincoln is 5-1 over Heritage Hall during that stretch. The Bulldogs are looking to punch their ticket back to the state championship game to have an opportunity to win a third straight state championship. Lincoln Christian also brings a 40-game winning streak into Friday's match-up with Heritage Hall. The Bulldogs have been perfect all season, including beating Heritage Hall 35-6 in week one. They've only given up three points in their last nine games. So needless to say, Heritage Hall has their work cut out for them but the Chargers aren't going to back away from a challenge. Despite their struggles in the last few years against Lincoln Christian, the Chargers have typically gotten out to fast starts. With an extra week to prepare for this match-up, it's safe to say the Chargers will have a few things cooked out to try and stun the Bulldogs early.

Lincoln Christian is loaded on both sides of the ball but this one is a no brainer. Sophomore standout [player_tooltip player_id='1164507' first='CJ' last='Wright'] has to be the player to watch for the Bulldogs in this one. First off, he is coming off a terrific performance in their quarterfinal win over Kingfisher, where he was outstanding in all three phases of the game. Then go back to the first time these two teams met. Wright had arguably the best game of his young career. He ran for nearly 200 yards and a touchdown and also caught a touchdown in their 35-6 victory over the Chargers. There is no doubt in our mind, Wright is a terrific talent and the Bulldogs will get creative with how they get him involved in this offense that features so many different playmakers that can beat you at the various positions.

This one feels like a no brainer as well when you're talking about Heritage Hall. Senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='587270' first='Jerrod' last='Williams'] is a four-year starter for the Chargers and has been so important to everything they do on offense, defense and special teams. You can make the argument that he's their top weapon on offense. He can line up anywhere in the secondary and make plays on defense. And he's a threat to do damage in the return game. And Williams is not going to back down from the challenge of facing top-ranked Lincoln Christian. In their regular season meeting a year ago, we think that Williams was the best player on the field that night. Now, the Chargers need him to be that again on Friday but they also need the other guys around him to step up so they can knock off the champs.

In the other rematch this week, we'll see #2 Sulphur squaring off with #6 Perkins-Tryon Friday night. These two teams met back in week four to open up district play. The Bulldogs got the best of the Demons at home, winning 42-20. For Sulphur, they are one win away from punching their ticket back to the state championship game. They've been perfect this season, winning tough games but mainly beating down everyone put in front of them in the last two months, including scoring a season-high 77 points in their quarterfinal win. They haven't forgotten how last season ended and they are one win away from potentially getting redemption. On the other sideline is Perkins-Tryon and the Demons are one win away from punching their ticket to the state championship game for the first time in program history. They've made the semifinals twice but came up short both times. It's been a rocky road for Perkins-Tryon this season, finishing third in the district. But they have a lot of momentum after knocking off district champion Cascia Hall in the quarterfinals.

Big time players make big time plays in big time games. That's the perfect phrase to use when we're talking about [player_tooltip player_id='1569774' first='Maddax' last='Mobly'] at Sulphur. You look at his overall stats this season and they aren't eye-popping. But open up the game logs. Look at what Mobly does consistently and that's perform at his absolute best against the toughest opponents. That includes that week four win over Perkins-Tryon. Mobly ran for a season-high 171 yards and two touchdowns. He also had three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. Not to mention he's an absolute menace on the defensive side of the ball. In our opinion, Mobly is one of the absolute best players in the state and it's because of his ability to always play at his absolute best against the best competition.

Speaking of one of the best players in the state. Perkins-Tryon senior [player_tooltip player_id='1161913' first='Wyatt' last='Atkinson'] has been that for the Demons this season. He's run for more than 2,100 yards and 29 touchdowns this season. And just like Mobly, it seems like Atkinson is performing at his best in the biggest games of the year. In the playoffs, he's run for over 450 yards and four touchdowns in the last two games. Even in the loss to Sulphur back in week four, Atkinson had success running the ball. And the Demons fed him the rock so we expect the same this week. Back in week four, he finished with a season-high 35 carries for 218 yards and a touchdown. It wouldn't be surprising to see him have a similar workload on Friday night and they'll need him to shine again to punch that ticket to the title game.
