What a season!

Today, we're talking about the results of the 2A, 4A, and 6A state championships. These teams put together unbelievable seasons and deserve all the recognition in the world.

Here's to our new 2025 State Champs!

2A: LANETT vs. COOSA CHRISTIAN (12/6)

In the 2A, Coosa Christian won 29-22!

Coosa dominated on the ground, totaling up 173 yards and 3 TDs from Mac Long (60 yds 1 TD), [player_tooltip player_id='1718031' first='Kylen' last='Johnson'] (56 yds, 2 TDs), and Joseph East (49 yds). Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1718031' first='Kylen' last='Johnson'] was the true star in this game, picking up three total touchdowns, two on the ground and one in the air.

Defensively, Grayson Malone had a big game, flying around the field to help create a ton of stops and even bringing in an INT as well. Lannett fought hard, but it wasn't enough. This was a great matchup. I won't be surprised if both teams are teams to watch in the 2A heading into next season.

4A: ANNISTON vs. JACKSON (12/6)

In the 4A, Jackson won 52-0!

Jackson had one of the best rushing performances of the season in [player_tooltip player_id='1051656' first='Ezavier' last='Crowell'], who went for 308 yards and 5 TDs off of 25 carries. There was nothing Anniston could do to stop him- and with [player_tooltip player_id='350449' first='Landon' last='Duckworth'] adding on in the passing game (7/7 for 83 yds and one TD), it made for a tough day on the Anniston defense.

Jackson's defense had unreal performances from [player_tooltip player_id='1314954' first='Demetrius' last='Wilson'] (10 tkls, 3 sacks, 5 tfls) and [player_tooltip player_id='1649067' first='Jayden' last='Tate'] (8 tkls, 3 sacks, 4 tfls). With those guys leading the way, Jackson's pass rush was unstoppable. On top of that, Jackson's secondary was able to come away with 3 INTs, and multiple PBUs- they really dominated in every phase of the game, capping off an unreal, multi-championship run from their senior class.

6A: SARALAND vs. CLAY CHALKVILLE (12/6)

In the 6A, Clay Chalkville won 38-21!

Clay Chalkville's offense had another dominant performance from QB [player_tooltip player_id='1452292' first='Aaron' last='Frye']. Frye couldn't be stopped on the ground or through the air, completing 8/10 for 167 yds for 2 TDs, and 193 yds and 3 TDs on the ground. RB Josh Woods also had a great day, picking up 66 yds on the ground.

Clay Chalkville's defensive front dominated the line of scrimmage. EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1664750' first='Keith' last='Richmond'] racked up 5 total tackles (3 for loss, 2 sacks) and [player_tooltip player_id='1700878' first='Colton' last='McIntyre'] (3 tkls, one tfl, and one sack) dominated up front, with [player_tooltip player_id='1337992' first='Xavier' last='Starks'] providing a ton of production on the back end (9 tkls, one tfl, and one PBU).
