Malik led the 3A conference with 1514 yards (7.8 YPC) while scoring 18 TDs, helping guide Carroll to a 5-game winning streak to push the team back into the playoffs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1238514' first='Kasen' last='Thomas'], SR, Bishop Heelan</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The star LB/RB prospect was once again the center of attention for the Crusaders; a one-man wrecking crew who paved the way for Bishop Heelan to reach the state championship game. Thomas ran for 1405 yards (6.5 YPC) and a conference-high 23 TDs. Meadows co-led the conference with 65 receptions for 795 yards and 10 TDs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>TE:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1361102' first='Colton' last='Schneider'], JR, Harlan Community </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Schneider had big shoes to fill this season at the TE position following the departure of Josef Reisz, but so far, he's proven to be a capable component for the Cyclones' passing game. Schneider finished with 382 yards on 26 receptions and 5 TDs in 2025. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>OL:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1840904' first='Jack' last='Guy'], SR, Humboldt</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While Humboldt unfortunately took a big step back following their state championship appearance last season, Guy remained a vital fixture to the Wildcats' offense, serving as a reliable Center for his new starting QB through the 2025 season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Max Aesoph, JR, Bishop Heelan</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Aesoph emerged as a vital component toward the Crusaders' offense, serving as a solid Tackle that helped open up the passing game a lot more to balance out the dangerous run-game led by Thomas. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1361129' first='Cole' last='Nohrenberg'], SR, Webster City</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Webster City's offense struggled to find the same effect in their potent run-game from previous seasons, but Nohrenberg remained a vital leader up front as a run-blocking Tackle, helping guide the offense to over 2000+ total rushing yards once again. Nohrenberg will bring his skillset with him to Dordt to play football at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1242258' first='Isaac' last='Harrington'], SR, Nevada</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Playing at Left Guard, Harrington remained an important fixture for the Cubs' well-balanced offense, playing impressively well in the postseason to pull off an unexpected run to the 3A championship title this season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1242824' first='Gavin' last='Holt'], SR, Carroll</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Holt once again was potent in opening up the run, helping guide the Tigers with the 2nd most total rushing TDs (35) in the conference and helping their Junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1656855' first='Adam' last='Malik'] lead the conference in rushing yards in his first year as a starter. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>First Team Defense:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1849099' first='Isaiah' last='Lange'], SO, Mount Pleasant</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the biggest breakout stars perhaps in the entire state last season, Lange exploded onto the scene as a sophomore as he led the conference with 13 sacks to go with 41 tackles (27 solo) and 18.5 TFLs. His explosive run also proved vital in an unexpected 7-3 turnaround campaign, their first winning season since 2019. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1844812' first='Max' last='Larson'], SR, Clear Lake</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Playing up front for the top scoring defense (5.4 PPG allowed) in the entire state, Larson rounded out his tenure at Clear Lake with an unexpectedly massive run, leading the way with 46 tackles (30 solo), 20 TFLs, 10 sacks, and an interception. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1923999' first='Damion' last='Nowman'], JR, Saydel</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Through Saydel's struggles, Nowman enjoyed a highly proficient year as he almost single-handedly dominated the trenches. Nowman finished with 66 tackles (52 solo), 20.5 TFLs, 7.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries as a junior</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1242280' first='John' last='Nelson'], SR, Nevada</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A two-way standout playing at WR and DL for the Cubs, Nelson found great success in both roles en route to the state championship title. Nelson racked up 33 tackles (22 solo), 16.5 TFLs, 9 sacks, and an interception returned for a TD, including 2 sacks in the state championship game against Bishop Heelan. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>LB:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1241540' first='Jaxon' last='Anderson'], SR, Mount Vernon</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mount Vernon's defense didn't quite reach the same levels of success as they had in 2024, but their 45 total sacks as a unit still led the 3A conference by a wide margin. Anderson returned as the most effective leader of the pass-rush unit, recording 79.5 tackles (61 solo), 27.5 TFLs, 12 sacks, a fumble recovery, and an interception returned for a TD. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Jack Georgen, SR, West Delaware</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>West Delaware had far more success in 2025 thanks to a strong defense that ranked 6th in the conference in points allowed (15.7 PPG). Georgen played a big part in their success with his ability to generate pressure, finishing with 93 tackles (47 solo), 23.5 TFLs, and 10 sacks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1840820' first='Noah' last='Krapfl'], SR, Wahlert Catholic</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A returning starter following the Golden Eagles' perfect campaign last season, Krapfl was able to keep the defense afloat, ranking as the third best scoring defense (13.3 PPG allowed) in the conference. Krapfl finished with 108 total tackles, and his 83 solo tackles were the most in the 3A conference, adding 13 TFLs, 5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and 3 interceptions in the process. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>DB:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1620016' first='Jace' last='Bellamy'], SR, Winterset</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bellamy was all over the field for Winterset as he dominated the Free Safety position. Bellamy led the conference with 110.5 total tackles (58 solo), an impressive feat for a defensive back. He also added 5 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, 10 passes defended, 7 interceptions, and one defensive TD. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1532898' first='Maddox' last='Kelley'], JR, Solon</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A rare feat to earn an all-state selection at all three aspects of the game, Kelley stood out at WR, DB, and punt returner, but it was his defensive performance that earned him a first-team selection on this list. Kelley finished with 41 tackles (34 solo), 3 TFLs, a sack, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and 6 interceptions with 2 returned for TDs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2088789' first='Isaac' last='Brownlee'], JR, Clear Lake</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the best pure coverage defenders in the state, Brownlee was a one-man island who was able to completely shut down his receivers, finishing with a whopping 21 passes defended to go with 20 tackles (15 solo), 2.5 TFLs, and 3 interceptions with 1 returned for a TD. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>First Team Special Teams:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>K:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Gavin Egeland, SR, Nevada</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An all-purpose standout for the Cubs, Egeland's talents were also displayed in the kicking game as he was one of the most effective placekickers in the state. Egeland made all 9 of his field goal attempts with a season long of 45 while finishing 35 of 36 on extra points and hitting 27 touchbacks on 57 kickoffs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>P:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1616422' first='JP' last='Elbert'], JR, Wahlert Catholic</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Elbert perfored well in his first year at starting QB for the Golden Eagles, and he proved to be competent playing on all 4 downs, including when it was time to punt. Elbert's 41.7 yards per punt on 26 punts ranked as the second highest average in the conference. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>KR:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Jonathan Hope, JR, Bishop Heelan</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finding a big role for the Crusaders in their secondary, Hope also found his stride in the return game, finishing with 480 kick return yards and 2 kick return TDs while averaging 30 yards per return. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>PR:</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1197456' first='Landon' last='Nihsen'], JR, Harlan Community</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nihsen finished as the leading receiver for the Cyclones while also flashing solid playmaking ability on special teams. Nihsen led the conference in punt return yards (290) while scoring 2 punt return TDs, averaging 17.1 yards per return. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p
