did it again on Friday night against the Lions. With the playoffs on the line, the senior defensive back posted 12 tackles.
The Class 3A leader in tackles with 93, Bellamy showed why on Friday at home. Playing as if his hair is on fire, Bellamy is a sideline-to-sideline DB that is seemingly everywhere at once, making it near impossible for opposing teams to register big plays. When the Huskies defense needs a big play itself, Bellamy seemingly is always there at the right time. Likely an NAIA or Division III recruit because of his size, Bellamy will make a collegiate program incredibly happy with a relentless motor as a tackling machine.

has been a menace on the defensive side of the ball for Winterset to start the 2025 season. In addition to the ridiculous tackle numbers, he’s posted five pass-breakups (PBUs), three interceptions and has forced a fumble.
On the offensive side of things, Bellamy isn’t the workhorse running back for Winterset — that distinction goes to fellow senior, Ben Porter — but Bellamy, in a secondary role, is averaging 8.9 yards per carry, taking 18 for 160 yards and four scores. Similarly impactful through the air, Bellamy has caught seven passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns, leading his team in yards per catch at 21.
Though Bellamy’s strong suit is clearly defense as a safety for the Huskies, he’s an uber-important part of the Winterset offense, especially when they need a big play.

After revisiting Jace’s junior tape, it’s clear he’s due for a bump in the rankings at our next update. The Huskies’ DB was everywhere for the Winterset defense as he led the team with 67.5 tackles, three TFLs, and an impressive six interceptions. Jace was very impressive as a playmaking centerfielder who could see the field extremely well and had the sideline-to-sideline range to attack from anywhere. Jace is also great at reading the QB’s eyes and can disguise himself very well when lurking in his zone before sharply breaking on the ball and taking it the other way. Great job getting depth in coverage. Bellamy resembles an extra linebacker when defending the run, displaying the physicality and tackling ability to be an effective box safety. Big time riser!
