Ethan McNeal Ethan McNeal 5'9" | 160 lbs | RB/DB Atlantic | 2027 IA has already proven his worth as one of the top RBs at the 3A level, and he’s also been an effective track star for the Trojans. McNeal has won 10 events over the course of the 2026 season, with 5 victories coming at Long Jump, including a victory at the Iowa State qualifier in Glenwood just a few days ago. On the field, McNeal broke out with 1331 rushing yards (6.6 YPC) and 14 TDs. He also added a receiving TD and scored a kick return TD while averaging 27.8 yards per return. McNeal undeniably boasts a great burst of speed with the ball in his hands, but it’s his constantly forward-pushing mentality that really stood out, being able to weave his way through traffic and churn through defenders, dragging his way forward for maximum yardage. Playing a key role in solidifying back-to-back winning seasons for the Trojans, McNeal’s role for the offense should remain pivotal toward their overall performance in 2026.

So far this season, McNeal is atop the list of backs in his class in total carries (149) and rushing yards (1,061). No. 12 in yards per carry (7.1) and tied for sixth in rushing touchdowns (11), McNeal has shown little-to-no signs of slowing down.

McNeal rushed 62 times for 584 yards (9.4 YPC) and four touchdowns in earning all-district honors. The sophomore also averaged 25.1 yards on 12 kick returns with a score and his lone punt return went 52 yards to the house. McNeal’s 10th-grade highlight video contains evidence as to how he gets the job done. A blur on kick returns, he doesn’t need much of a crease to inflict damage. McNeal looks most comfortable taking a pitch on stretch plays, where he can use his vision and burst to get to the second level and beyond. He’s patient and sets up his blocks well.
