This class of 2028 D-Line group is incredible. Seriously, this might be the deepest class I've ever seen. Several prospects who, as sophomores, already show high-end strength, motor, and in some cases, bend. Man, this is a class that I'm excited to dive further into. For now, here are my thoughts on five guys who have caught my eye in the last few weeks.

Sims joins the rankings as yet another extremely high upside defensive lineman.

I really like his sophomore season tape. Primarily playing 5-tech, Cameron proved to be a very well-rounded player. Rushing the passer, he's able to keep his pad level low and dip past slower offensive tackles. Even if his initial rush doesn't work, Cameron is able to recover nicely. I especially like Cameron's anchor and all-around power- he's a physical DE who doesn't allow himself to be moved in the run game. In fact he's sometimes the one moving the offensive lineman into his own RB.

I view Cameron as a fringe D1 prospect right now. I trust Muskegon to develop Cameron, and I'm expecting a huge junior season.

An all-region D-Lineman with an Eastern Michigan offer, Dylan broke out in a massive way in 2025.

Dylan's power is impressive. Several highlights showcase Dylan bull rushing linemen with so much force that he pancakes them. Additionally, Dylan has good bend and has amazing speed to power. He's already an uber-efficient Varisty player as a sophomore, and I'm honestly struggling to find areas to critique. Very rarely do I see DTs with his kind of bend, speed, and power. I absolutely think Dylan's college upside is at DT, and his tape indicates an easy Power 4 ceiling. The sky's the limit.

There are many similarities between Malachi's tape and Dylan's tape (above).

As a DE/DT, Malachi sports impressive burst and bend. He's one of the better pass rushers in West Michigan, as he does an excellent job of keeping his hands moving through his rush. Malachi can club, dip & rip, or even bull rush to earn his way into the opposing backfield. Defending against the run, Malachi is disciplined, takes on blocks with a ton of physicality, and has a wide tackle radius. Considering Malachi's current height, I'd imagine his college upside will probably be at DT. Malachi is absolutely worthy of G5 looks this offseason.

AJ had a very good sophomore season. His tape is quite good, as it clearly showcases his high-end strength and anchor. He's a smart run defender, as he has a knack for reading plays to his size of the field. AJ can fight through blockers to stop a slow-developing counter play, or anchor himself long enough to make a stop in an adjacent gap. AJ is a smart run defender and has a great motor. Additionally, he has a few bright moments when rushing the passer, but his strength is clearly in stopping the run.

It was a bit hard to rank AJ. He's a legitimately awesome run-stopper, but lacks the height that colleges typically look for in a defensive end. I do think AJ can be an all-region high school DE. In college, I like AJ as an H-Back or DT.

Rossman is an extremely intriguing prospect. Decent height, great strength, and a motor that doesn't stop. He's strong enough to consistently push the pocket on bull rushes. Against the run, he's able to anchor himself in place nicely. Additionally, he has an effective swim move when rushing the passer.

This is an extremely high-effort player who's been doing great things since he first walked into Coopersville. Calvin has several great traits, and I'm looking forward to Calvin improving upon things like his speed and bend.
