I really liked Arini’s game. He’s a technician. He always had a plan of attack going into his 1v1 reps. His blend of get-off, hand fighting, and bend made him a tough block. He was easily top 2 at the event in his ability to string together moves. That’s huge at the college level, because you can’t be a one trick pony at the college level and be successful unless you’re elite at that move. Arini just needs to continue to add good weight and get stronger and I’m excited to see what his future holds.

AJ had a very good sophomore season. His tape is quite good, as it clearly showcases his high-end strength and anchor. He’s a smart run defender, as he has a knack for reading plays to his size of the field. AJ can fight through blockers to stop a slow-developing counter play, or anchor himself long enough to make a stop in an adjacent gap. AJ is a smart run defender and has a great motor. Additionally, he has a few bright moments when rushing the passer, but his strength is clearly in stopping the run.
It was a bit hard to rank AJ. He’s a legitimately awesome run-stopper, but lacks the height that colleges typically look for in a defensive end. I do think AJ can be an all-region high school DE. In college, I like AJ as an H-Back or DT.
