The second week of the Open Division and 6A delivers the first full slate of playoff action, where every matchup is win-or-go-home. The field is loaded with heavyweight programs, rising contenders, and teams that found their stride at just the right time. There are no easy paths forward where big-moment poise will decide who advances. This is the stage where stars emerge, seasons are defined, and the margin between moving on and going home becomes razor thin. Here are the Open/6A Playoff Round Two Best Games:

Brophy Prep (7-4) vs Chandler (8-2)

The most intriguing matchup of the Open Division bracket will be the Brophy Prep Broncos heading into Chandler to face the Chandler Wolves. The Brophy Broncos were able to squeeze out the win against Casteel in the Open Division 'play-in' game and have now won their last 3, with the final being 51-42. Chandler had a bye week but closed the regular season with a 55–41 loss to Hamilton. The break should give them some much-needed rest as they prepare for their postseason push. Both teams can light it up through the air. QB [player_tooltip player_id='1190650' first='Will' last='Mencl'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='591191' first='Jai' last='Jones'] have been a dynamic connection on the outside for the Wolves offense. On the other hand, QB [player_tooltip player_id='401151' first='Case' last='Vanden Bosch'] can be lethal on the ground and through the air as he had over 275 passing yards last game, 4 TDs and 125 rush yards along with 3 rushing TDs. He features a two-way tandem of weapons in WR [player_tooltip player_id='401157' first='Devin' last='Fitzgerald'] and WR [player_tooltip player_id='883368' first='Donovan' last='McNabb Jr.'] The key to this matchup will come down to which running game can take the pressure of their signal caller and finish out the game in the final moments. Can RB Harrison Chambers continue to lean on this Brophy offensive line with talent like OL [player_tooltip player_id='597474' first='Shane' last='Reiersgaard'] and OL Yuen Taufetee or will Chandler's sophomore duo of RB David Douglas and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1325892' first='Chase' last='Ochoa'] be able to punch its way past the Brophy Prep front seven?

Mesa (7-4) vs Centennial (7-4)

Over in the 6A bracket, a marquee matchup awaits with Mesa Jackrabbits heading to Peoria to face the Centennial Coyotes. Mesa was able to win a close one against Highland in their 6A 'play-in' game, winning 27-24. The Coyotes came up short against Mountain View, falling 22–14 and moving down into the 6A playoff bracket. Both teams are looking to get their passing attacks going early and often as they were both slightly inconsistent to start the postseason. For Centennial, the focus will be on getting the ball to WR Carter Reidy on the perimeter, while Mesa will look to feature WR Caleb Tafua in their own passing attack. Mesa also benefits from the momentum of HB Rio Arnett who had himself a game against the Hawks, putting the team on his back with 153 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Additionally, Mesa has dangerous pair of linebackers in LB Ezekiel Estep who had 12 tackles and a sack, and LB Kainalu Skipps who had 11 tackles and a pick. Centennial will need another big game out of their pass rush from players like DL [player_tooltip player_id='1588765' first='Jace' last='Langley'] who had 2 sacks last game and DL [player_tooltip player_id='883404' first='Luke' last='Franklin'] who had a sack.

ALA-Queen Creek (5-6) vs Perry (6-5)

Another fascinating matchup in the 6A division is the ALA-Queen Creek Patriots facing the Perry Pumas. ALA-Queen Creek lost a heartbreaker to Red Mountain for the right to play in the Open Division, losing 28-21. Perry was able to commandingly handle Westwood in their 6A 'play-in' game, beating them 43-23. Both teams have talented signal callers that can throw it all over the yard. Perry's QB [player_tooltip player_id='883279' first='Kael' last='Snyder'] was a gunslinger against Westwood, recording 2 passing TDs and a 50-yard rushing TD. ALA-Queen Creek's QB [player_tooltip player_id='1325793' first='Cody' last='Lalama'] had himself a nice outing against Red Mountain throw 2 passing TDs. The key to the game will lie in the run game for Perry and the defensive front seven of the Patriot's defense. Who will step in the Perry backfield and contend with talent in the trenches with players like LB [player_tooltip player_id='1682328' first='Ryder' last='Stowell'] and DL [player_tooltip player_id='1369391' first='Corde' last='Nunnery']?
