The Co-Offensive Player of the Year for Large Schools by the WFCA put together an elite stat line in the D2 Championship game. The team would come up short, but Kingston did everything he could to keep things close. The junior RB verified his elite traits on the biggest stage. He runs very powerful with a strong leg drive and a low center of gravity. As he continues to fill out his frame that power is going to become even more impactful. We got a few glimpses of that second gear when he got around the edge and his vision was on display essentially every snap as he patiently waited for lanes to open and then attacked them. The 2027 RB is no doubt a Power 4 RB recruit and should have more offers joining Wisconsin and Northwestern.

What a run Will and Reedsburg went on this postseason. The Reedsburg rushing attack, anchored by Will, churned their way all the way to State and almost secured them a Championship. It was so impressive watching the success that Will had. Every week the entire stadium would know he was getting the ball and it didn't matter. The senior won with power, balance, and speed. He runs to strong, punishing defenders and breaking tackles. Will was always ready for contact, and as soon as he worked into green grass he could flip that switch and win the race to the endzone. Will and the Reedsburg rushing attack made their game one of the best of the finals.

The junior RB is rapidly rising in my eyes. Jack put together a great season to help Grafton get to and win their State Championship game. Just like every other week, Jack handled a huge workload. He thrives with his quickness and agility. His vision helps him find those small seams and those agility traits allow him to change direction or make defenders miss. The junior also has that shot out of a cannon type of acceleration to attack those seams. Very exciting to watch him again this coming summer and fall. He will be a name to have on your boards and at your camps.

Tysen and the Northwestern offense struggled a bit to establish the run consistently because they had to go to the air to get themselves back in the game. That scenario allowed Teal to show off his versatility as an RB. He did a fantastic job of stretching the field vertically with his speed and then would show off great hands. Tysen did a great job with his route running to create space for his QB to target, and could go fight for the ball and win if the DB closed before the ball got there. This game allowed Teal to show off that he is not only an explosive runner, but also a dynamic weapon out of the backfield. That versatility will open up options for him at the next level. I can't wait to see how well he tests this spring/summer. A name to highlight on your recruiting boards.

Brady was another RB who showed off his entire skill set during his State game. He ran tough and churned out difficult yards while handling 20 carries. Then in the biggest moments he showed that he could line up out wide at receiver and get downfield, track the ball, and make catches in traffic. He was the one who set up the final attempt to win the game thanks to his long reception. Brady is an explosive athlete who thrives at flying through gaps, but that burst also gives him some surprising power. I'm pumped to see how that translates to the next level.

Mayville finally was able to get over the hump and bring home a State Championship thanks to their rushing attack. Spearheading that attack was senior RB Landen Baker. The senior has put together some unreal individual performances to get to this final game and on the big stage did a great job of wearing down the defense. He was steady and consistent. 4-5 yards at a time, moving the pile, falling forward, and forcing the defense to gang tackle him. The senior didn't get to show his hands off much this game, but to get to this point he has made several huge catches. He is still uncommitted, so give the playmaker a look.

Reece is a bull with the ball in his hands. He gets downhill, head full of steam, runs behind his pads, and attempts to churn his way through defenders. His stocky build and low center of gravity made him a tough tackle one on one. Usually it required a gang to bring him down. It was really impressive watching him run the ball. It would look like he was about to go down, then churn ahead for another 3-4 yards while his body was at crazy angles. That is a special trait to have and paired with how tough he runs you get an RB that is a nightmare to face off with for 48 minutes. While his team came up short they bring back a ton of talent, so we may be seeing the start of Reece and Little Chute.

Unfortunately, Edgar was overmatched in their championship game. However, Maverick came to play. The bowling ball build RB was a one cut runner who ran hard and looked right at home having to play physical. This Edgar team lived off their defense in 2025, so having to play physical and churn out tough yards to win low scoring games had Maverick feeling right at home. The power back showed off a little bit of speed late in the game on one of his TDs when he found a lane, hit the gas, and was gone. The small school standout is still uncommitted and well worth a look.

WDP definitely went as the pass game went, but Ryan did a great job of keeping the defense honest. They couldn't pin their ears back and purely pass rush because as soon as they would the Phantoms could hand it off to Ryan and his quickness and agility would allow him to pick through the front seven and gain 4-5 yards at a time. The senior RB also did a great job of finishing short yardage carries, including both of his TD runs that occurred on the goal line. The senior dominates with his short area burst and agility. He is uncommitted and wrapping up an elite year of production alongside the Phantom passing attack. Check him out.

Arrowhead rosters a trio of dynamic and explosive RBs, so Jebari earning the majority of carries is noteworthy. Craig is quick through traffic. His vision and instincts allowed him to thrive through the trenches as he could quickly find the hole, look for a cutback if necessary, and get up field and also utilize an explosive jump cut to avoid tackles. For being a more undersized back Jebari runs really hard too, bouncing off hits and still gaining yards while his body is at awkward angles. The playmaker really broke out this season.
I've been excited to see Devin hit the varsity field and the #1 RB in the Class of 2028 got his chance this season. He hit the ground running, showing great instincts and feel for the position. The '28 is was quick through traffic, including his TD run where he showed off that explosive acceleration through the hole. He also has the frame to handle absorbing contact while keeping his feet and gaining yards after contact. I was impressed by how well he can move laterally too. Some of his lateral cuts had him covering ground very quickly and it gave him angles to make make something out of nothing. I'm very excited that we get a couple more seasons of watching Devin ball out. Definitely check this kid out and have him high on your recruiting boards for 2028s.
