#7 EDMOND MEMORIAL (8-3) AT #2 JENKS (9-1)

Our first quarterfinal clash will see #2 Jenks hosting #7 Edmond Memorial and this is a very intriguing match-up when you look at the two teams and what they do well. Jenks can absolutely light up the scoreboard. Their offense is one of the best in the state, regardless of class and the Trojans show no signs of slowing down now that we are starting the playoff run this month. Then you have an Edmond Memorial squad that has a terrific defense and they will be pushed more this week then they have been in any other game this week. If they pull the upset, it will be because of the defense. Both of these teams made it to the semifinals a year ago and came up short of punching that ticket to the title game. Only one of these teams will make it back this season.

#5 MUSTANG (8-3) AT #4 BROKEN ARROW (8-2) (MARQUEE MATCH-UP)

In the marquee game of the week in Class 6A-1, we'll see #4 Broken Arrow hosting #5 Mustang for the second time this season. Back in week two, these two teams squared off, with Broken Arrow prevailing 21-14. Two months later, they will meet again on the same field but the match-up will look completely different.

For Mustang, the Broncos nearly came to Broken Arrow and beat the Tigers and it should be noted that they were without their star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1832625' first='Jaden' last='O'Neal'] back in September. He missed a couple games with an injury and the Broncos still kept it close. A couple interceptions would prevent them from pulling off the upset. Now, they have their Florida State commit back at the quarterback position and this offense is absolutely humming. The Broncos certainly have the talent to pull off the win Friday. We're expecting another four-quarter battle in this one.

On the other side with Broken Arrow, the Tigers have continued to gel together as a team and just like Mustang, they'll look completely different than they did back in September. The Tigers have a legitimate two-headed monster at the running back position and one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the state. Junior star [player_tooltip player_id='478124' first='Semaj' last='Stanford'] had a big performance in the regular season meeting and he'll certainly play a big role again Friday night. It should also be noted that junior cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='485526' first='Noah' last='Gillespie'] ended up being the hero of that September game with two big interceptions.

#8 UNION (5-6) AT #1 BIXBY (10-0)

Top-ranked and defending champion Bixby begins their pursuit of another state championship on Friday night, when they host Union in the quarterfinals. The Spartans are chasing more history during this playoff run and they have simply been perfect this season. Bixby feels like the runaway favorite as they continue to garner national attention as one of the country's best teams. On the other sideline you have a Union team that played the most exciting first round game in 6A-1 last week. The Redhawks prevailed over Norman, winning 49-42. Now, they look to pull the upset of all upsets by going on the road and taking down Bixby. The Spartans have played in 11 straight state title games so Union taking them down in the quarterfinals would be the stunner of the century.

#9 YUKON (6-5) AT #3 OWASSO (8-2)

Our final quarterfinal clash is another regular season rematch as Owasso hosts Yukon and these two teams just played two weeks ago in the regular season finale. Yukon beat Deer Creek in the first round and that was their first playoff victory in nearly three decades. They had lost eight straight first round games but that streak has come to an end. Now, they look to avenge their 20-point loss to the Rams from week ten. For Owasso, it's the playoff opener as the Rams have won eight straight following a tough 0-2 start. They begin their pursuit of making it back to Edmond to once again compete for the state championship. The Rams are certainly the favorite in this match-up but you never know how these playoff rematches will look.
