#4 ADA (10-1) AT #1 ELGIN (11-0) (MARQUEE MATCH-UP)

It's a southern Oklahoma battle here as #1 Elgin will host #4 Ada and this is our 4A game of the week for the quarterfinal round. The defending champion Owls are once again undefeated on the season, having won 25 straight games dating back to last year. Ada is 10-1 and the Cougars are in pursuit of their 20th state championship in school history, which would break a tie with Carl Albert.

For Ada, this is the ultimate opportunity to crash the party and return to the mountain of Oklahoma high school football. Class 4A has felt like a two-team class this season with Elgin and Tuttle but Ada has the firepower to make a run in the next few weeks. This Cougar squad is very talented on both sides of the ball and they have a ton of experience with players that have started for multiple seasons. You look at their offense and everything goes through quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='911940' first='Brock' last='Boyles'] but he's not alone in the Ada backfield. Running back [player_tooltip player_id='1326361' first='Caron' last='Richardson'] has had an outstanding season and has been one of the best running backs in Class 4A football. But the Cougars might see THE best running back in 4A football on Friday night.

Elgin senior [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] has been an absolute dude since his sophomore season. He became an Elgin legend in the state title game last year when he carried the ball 40+ times in the win. This season, there is no doubt that he's one of the best players in Oklahoma. So this is an interesting match-up because Meyer has shown the ability to carry his team to win after win and they are going up against an Ada team that has a ton of weapons on both sides of the ball. Meyer isn't alone but he's certainly the must-watch player in this Elgin lineup. The Owls have looked unstoppable this season. Their closest game was an 18-point win over 5A's Newcastle. Elgin shows no signs of slowing down and Ada is the next team in the way of a return to Edmond.

#8 ARDMORE (8-3) AT #5 CUSHING (10-1)

#8 Ardmore hits the road to face #5 Cushing and it's a battle of Tigers in this quarterfinal clash. Ardmore has been playing lights out football following a 1-3 start to the season against a tough early schedule. They've won seven in a row, including last week's 28-21 win over Elk City in the first round. They are incredibly experienced and one win away from their first semifinal appearance since 2018. On the other side is Cushing and they might be one of the more underrated teams in the state this season. They lost in week one and haven't lost since. They've also looked absolutely dominant with an offense that has scored at least 30 points in every game except the season opener. Cushing certainly has the firepower to win this week and potentially make a run to the state championship game.

#6 GROVE (10-1) AT #2 TUTTLE (11-0)

#2 Tuttle will host #6 Grove on Friday night and the Tigers have been not only perfect this season, they've absolutely blitzed every team they've faced so far. There are only a handful of games this season where Tuttle's starters have had to play in the second half. The Tigers look like they are on a crash course for a rematch with Elgin in the state title game. The Ridgerunners will look to prevent that on Friday night by pulling off the upset. Grove's only loss came to Cushing six weeks ago in a high-scoring affair. Grove has the potential to light up the scoreboard but there is no doubt that this game will be the toughest test of their journey so far. Similar to Cushing, Grove has been criminally underrated this season but if they get a win on Friday night, that simply won't be the case anymore.

WEATHERFORD (9-2) AT #3 BROKEN BOW (10-1)

Weatherford hits the road for a 300-mile road trip to Broken Bow. The Eagles have been a consistent playoff team over the last several years but they had lost four straight playoff openers coming into this season. They took care of Blanchard to punch their ticket to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2019. The Eagles will now face a Broken Bow squad that has one of the best quarterbacks in the state. And the Savages have been absolutely dominant this season. Led by that spectacular quarterback, Broken Bow is one win away from their first semifinal appearance since 2010. They played in arguably the most competitive district in the state and came out as district champs. While 4A feels like a class that could come down to Elgin and Tuttle again. Don't forget about Broken Bow.
