Welcome to this week's Film Room Review, where we take a deeper look at some standout players from across Oklahoma. This session is all about going beyond the surface—diving into the details you only catch when you really study the film. We're talking about technique, fundamentals, decision-making, and how players respond in key moments.

As coaches, this is where you separate flash from substance. Anyone can make a highlight play, but what shows up consistently snap after snap is what really matters. Footwork, leverage, ball skills, eye discipline, effort—those are the traits we're focusing on in this breakdown.

The players featured this week put together strong performances and showed qualities that translate. Whether it's consistency, toughness, or the ability to execute under pressure, each of these athletes gave us something worth studying and evaluating moving forward.

Braxton put together a productive junior season, totaling 43 receptions for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns. He's a receiver who isn't afraid to go up and compete at the high point, challenging the defenders for the 50/50 ball where he came down with some good catches. He's a good route runner who understands how to get open, showing good field awareness and creating separation, especially on comeback routes by sinking his hips effectively. He does a nice job maintaining his speed in and out of his breaks and understands his passing route concepts. Braxton catches the ball naturally with his hands and displays strong body control along with nice eye-hand coordination.

Eli lines up on the defensive side of the ball as a hybrid defensive back/safety for the Conquerors, showing the versatility to play both in the secondary and down in the box. He showed, only a few times on film, he can be comfortable on the deep ball and isn't afraid to step up and make a tackle, bringing a physical presence when needed. Eli shows a good backpedal and can transition quickly when changing direction. He also does a good job of getting off blocks to help finish plays. I'd like to see him continue to develop and showcase more of his coverage ability in the secondary on film, because he's already shown he can play in the box, pending the formation of the offense. He does well playing cutback and finding open gaps to fit.

Orlando shows a strong initial punch with good extension, allowing him to control blockers at the point of attack. He's aggressive in taking on pulling guards, attacking instead of sitting back and waiting, which helps him disrupt plays early. On slants, he does a nice job getting underneath the tackle, showing a quick first step and the ability to penetrate. He works well off blocks and gets down the line of scrimmage with good pursuit of the football. He plays with a physical edge and keeps his hands active, consistently putting himself in position to make plays. I enjoyed watching Orlando's junior highlights and expect him to have a good senior season. Currently, Orlando holds and offer from Arkansas Tech.

Tyler put together a pretty good season at Paoli, totaling 1,100 rushing yards and 525 receiving yards out of the backfield to go along with 17 touchdowns. He's a versatile playmaker and the coaches find ways to get the ball in his hands to make an impact in multiple ways. He shows good body control and strong eye-hand coordination, and he's tough to bring down, rarely going down on first contact. Tyler displays good field vision as a runner, allowing him to find lanes and maximize his opportunities. As a receiver, he catches the ball naturally out of the backfield and has the ability to line up all over the field, creating mismatches against defenders.

Nizyah put together a good junior season, finishing with 30 receptions for 579 yards and 5 touchdowns, along with an interception on the defensive side of the ball. He shows good body control and eye-hand coordination, allowing him to come down with tough catches. With the ball in his hands, he displays good field vision and the ability to make plays in space, consistently finding ways to get open and produce for the Rangers. He finds the open windows for his quarterback to get him the ball. Defensively, he lines up at safety and isn't afraid to step up and make a play on the ball carrier. He takes proper angles, strikes with purpose, and does a good job securing tackles, showing he can be effective on both sides of the ball. Not to mention, he is a returner on special teams and finished the year with 1,000 all-purpose yards.
