Braxton put together a productive junior season, totaling 43 receptions for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s a receiver who isn’t afraid to go up and compete at the high point, challenging the defenders for the 50/50 ball where he came down with some good catches. He’s a good route runner who understands how to get open, showing good field awareness and creating separation, especially on comeback routes by sinking his hips effectively. He does a nice job maintaining his speed in and out of his breaks and understands his passing route concepts. Braxton catches the ball naturally with his hands and displays strong body control along with nice eye-hand coordination.

Dean finished off his sophomore season as one of the team’s leading receivers and we’ve seen some of the work he’s put in this offseason. All signs point to him taking that next step and becoming a reliable target for the Verdigris passing game. One thing we like about his overall game is the versatility. He does have the potential to impact the game in more ways than just at wide receiver. He’s one name that we’re keeping an eye on as a potential breakout player.
