If I were picking one Iowa prospect being under-recruited relative to talent on Oct. 9, 2025, Alford would be at, or near, the top of the list. I first scouted him at the Back2Ballin 7-on-7 tournament in April. He was working his way back from an injury that cost him some of last season. Still, you could see the quick-twitch athleticism that stands out in that competition. Alford flashed potential as a defensive back and receiver. I preferred his skill set in the secondary, however. I'm further convinced of that being his future home when watching senior highlights. Alford operates at a great tempo while being under control. He has a knack for making plays in coverage thanks to a quick burst and speedy diagnosis. Alford is physical and packs a punch at 6-1, 200. His talents are FCS level, at minimum.

I understand the apprehension in recruiting Rettig as a quarterback. He's unconventional at the position. I think he could help plenty of college programs out, but coaches at that level can be rigid in evaluating guys behind center. That said, I feel more confident in saying the Lightning senior would make teams on the next level better in some capacity. Rettig is a football player that has the innate ability to deliver in key moments. He's a quality leader with a high IQ in the sport. Rettig could fit at defensive back or receiver with some seasoning. He'd be an asset on special teams as well. Think outside the box with Rettig, whether it be at QB or elsewhere, and the impact potential is present.

Injury cost Morgan most of his junior season and hurt him on the recruiting trail. College coaches would be wise to check in on the Centennial senior, who had rushed for 771 yards (11.0 per carry) and 12 touchdowns in his team's first six games. He'd added 11 receptions and a score. You can watch film from his first three contests HERE, and the second trio can be seen HERE. The Jaguars do well in finding ways to get Morgan the ball from different locations in the formation. His ability to make guys miss in space lends itself to that practice. Morgan is a fluid runner with patience and vision. He flows with the blocking scheme and bursts through creases. Power allows for bouncing off arm tackles and he gets downhill quickly with an extra gear, to boot. Schools looking for a natural running back with upside should already be calling.

Breyfogle has been among the Raiders' top tacklers for the last three seasons. Through six games of 2025, the senior had contributed a team-high 46.5 stops with 27 of them being solo. He also piled up 10.5 tackles for loss, a sack and an interception. Film from his first three games of the campaign reveal a downhill linebacker that hits gaps and running backs hard in the hole. The physicality oozes through on the clips. His height and long arms help him in coverage as does his speed and agility. Breyfogle's wrestling talents aid him on the gridiron, where he operates with leverage and smooth feet. With a projectable frame capable of adding good weight and strength, Breyfogle has plenty of room to grow and develop before reaching his ceiling.

South Dakota reportedly offered Davis a scholarship back in March. I thought that might open up the flood gates for a guy with height, length and a projectable frame capable of being developed in college. He's athletic with quickness and speed. There's a lot to like. Other schools have been slow to jump in with him, and perhaps he's overshadowed on a deep roster. A look at highlights from the first half of his senior season reveals that shouldn't be the case. Davis is an edge rusher with upside. He performs effectively with his hand in the dirt or standing up. With burst off of the snap, he wins with speed but also utilizes his hands well. The production is there as well. After racking up 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks last season, he had 5.5 and 3.0 in six games this year.

I've scouted Wroe in person during the last two seasons and kinda don't understand the reluctance in recruiting him. Production has been there. This season, he led the Top 10 Tigers with 53.5 tackles (42 solo, 9.0 TFL) with 2.0 sacks through six games. Check out his highlights from the first three contests. Watch him see what's coming through pre-snap reads, get in position and shoot gaps to the ball carrier. His straight-line speed impresses and he gets from sideline to sideline quickly, too. Wroe embraces the game's physicality and opponents feel his presence. Also an accomplished baseball player, Wroe is a good athlete with room for growth, physically and in sharpening football skills.
