Prep Redzones new Power Score algorithm debuted this year. It takes 5 different criteria and determines a score for each team. So far in the early stages it has been fairly accurate but there is a few incidence where Man and Computer disagree. Below is how the Class 4A Power Poll stacks up vs my own "Morgan Poll".

Discussion

1 Spot: (PRZN: Creekside; Morgan: Creekside)

Man v Machine can easily agree on the 1 spot. The Seminoles have been dominate on both sides of the ball in '25. They are led by Senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='683105' first='Cayden' last='Benson'] who has 1600 total yards and has scored 26 TDs through 7 games. Creekside is averaging over 50 points per game while shutting out 5 of their 7 opponents.

2 Spot (PRZN: SW Dekalb; Morgan: North Oconee)

The Panthers are 5-2 with their 2 losses coming to perineal powers Marist and Carver Atlanta. The computer likes that SW Dekalb has been dominate in their 5 wins, outscoring their opponents 221-24. I have them at #18 in my poll but I do believe they will be a dangerous team come playoffs behind Junior duel threat QB Braylon Carter.

3 Spot (PRZN: Marist; Morgan: Cartersville)

This is where the new algorithm needs some ironing out. The Eagles are 5-1 with an impressive 31-7 win over the above mentioned #2 SW Dekalb. I have Marist at #8 in my Poll but a strong case could be made for them at #3. Always a tough out in the playoffs.

4 Spot (PRZN: North Oconee; Morgan: Benedictine)

We are close to agreement on the Titans with North Oconee coming in at #2 in my personal poll. They have been dominate in their 7-0 start, outscoring opponents by an average of 42-3. The Titans are led by veteran Senior QB [player_tooltip player_id='683018' first='Harrison' last='Faulkner'] who will be headed to Georgia Southern next Fall.

5 Spot (PRZN: Central (Carroll); Morgan: Ware County)

The Central Lions are well balanced team with next level talent all over the field. They are off to a 7-0 start led by Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='262739' first='JR' last='Harris'] who has completed 70% of his passes for over 1300 yards with just 1 INT. The Walton brothers , Sr Jonaz and Soph. Jacez, have combined for over 1000 yards and 11 TDs on the season. I have Central at the #6 spot in my poll.

6 Spot (PRZN: Ware County; Morgan: Central)

Man v Computer flipped their 5 and 6 spots and its hard to argue either way. The Gators are 6-1 and have hit the 50 point mark in 3 of their 6 wins. Senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='212309' first='Tayshaun' last='Franklin'] has averaged close to 10 ypc with 14 rushing TDs. Ware's only loss was to Benedictine (30-27), a team I have ranked at #4 and one will talk about later.

7 Spot (PRZN: Walnut Grove; Morgan: Cambridge)

Big difference here in Man v Computer as I have the Warriors at #26 in my poll. Walnut Grove had an impressive start to the season going 5-0 before losing to Eastside 34-6 last week. They have work to do over the next 4 weeks to secure a playoff spot in a tough Region.

8 Spot (PRZN: Cartersville; Morgan: Marist)

We have these 2 teams flipped in our polls. The Canes have once again been impressive and are off to a 7-0 start and after their win over Cass last week they appear on the way to another Region Title. They are led by one of the most underrated 2026 QBs in the State in [player_tooltip player_id='212305' first='Nate' last='Russell']. Russell has thrown for 1300 yards with 19 TDs to just 1 INT in limited time due to the Canes margin of victory.

9 Spot (PRZN: MLK; Morgan: Kell)

No doubt the Lions are off to a good start at 6-1 behind Senior QB Javion Dobbs. I do think Region 4-4A is getting a boost in the computer ranks from Creekside.

10 Spot (PRZN: Lithonia Morgan: Blessed Trinity)

The Bulldogs from Region 5-4A are 5-1 with their only loss coming to computer ranked #2 SW Dekalb. I have Lithonia at #22 in my poll. A player to watch is Senior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1680994' first='Albert' last='Gooding'] who is on pace to rush for over 1000 yards and averaging over 7 ypc.

Biggest Snub by The Computer

Benedictine Cadets

I'm not smart enough to know how the algorithm works but I am curious as the Cadets came in at #30. I have them at #4 in my poll with their only 2 losses coming to Powers Buford and Colquitt County.
