We're at the midway point of the season in the blink of an eye, and we'll be highlighting prospects who have produced midseason highlight tapes. Colleges will evaluate prospect film from the midpoint of the season to assess their progress this season, as they update their recruiting boards. Here are some WR/TE prospects to check out with midseason highlight tapes that we didn't cover from the First 3/4 games spotlight series!

WVU commit and 2026 Nitro WR [player_tooltip player_id='866254' first='Malachi' last='Thompson'] has had to share more touches this season among a talented Wildcats' receiving group, but is still producing. He has caught 25 passes for 443 yards and 6 touchdowns at the midpoint of the season, continuing his big-play ability that he has shown throughout his storied career. If Thompson finishes strong in the second half of the season, he'll be in the mix again for the Randy Moss Award as the state's best receiver.

The Wheeling Park passing offense is still finding their footing beside a prolific rushing attack, but 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='894679' first='Owen' last='Dobrzynski-Hines'] has emerged as their top threat out wide. He's done a nice job on defense this season at corner, which gives colleges another position to evaluate him at as a potential prospect. As a smaller receiver who projects to the slot at the next level, Dobrzynski-Hines has made some impressive, tough, contested catches in traffic this season for the Patriots, which pairs well with his explosive athleticism.

2026 WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1138931' first='Jermare' last='Smith'] transferred over to George Washington for his senior season and has helped the Patriots to a 5-0 start at the midway point. He's a solid role player on both sides of the ball and is an underrated asset to their success so far this year. Smith is playing the best ball of his career as a senior and should see some college opportunities because of it this fall. DB may be his best position at the next level, but Smith can also be a reliable target on offense out of the slot. His quickness and cutting ability give him playmaking potential if he can get more touches on the offensive side of the ball in the second half of the season.

One of the more underrated receivers in the 2026 class, Sissonville's [player_tooltip player_id='1523593' first='Brody' last='Scott'] continues to be a top playmaker for the Indians as a senior. He's quietly had a very productive career at a program that is working to turn the corner, and Scott should be rewarded for his efforts this fall with some college opportunities. Scott is an instinctual player with a good mind for the position, which shows the amount of experience he has had during his career. He's doing a great job on double moves and can execute the full route tree. Scott also does a nice job after the catch and can accelerate past defenders for an explosive play.

Another under-the-radar receiver in the 2026 class who deserves some recognition is Poca's [player_tooltip player_id='1127708' first='DJ' last='Combs']. He's caught 20 passes for 222 yards in four games this season for the Dots and can be utilized in all three levels of the passing game. Combs is a good underneath security blanket for his quarterback in the short passing game, and has YAC ability to get upfield for extra yards. He also does a nice job working for his quarterback in scramble drills, fighting to get open. Combs would be a good value addition to a D3 program.

2026 Parkersburg South WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1923035' first='Channing' last='Barrett'] has had a nice first half of his senior season on both sides of the ball for the Patriots. He's second in receiving with 241 yards and a score and is leading the team in interceptions with 3. Barrett is a tough player who plays with physicality on both sides of the ball and welcomes contact. As a receiver, he fights for extra yards and enjoys putting his shoulder down to fall forward. On defense, Barrett comes downhill with force, can jar the ball loose, and has ball skills in coverage.

Greenbrier East is off to a good start to the 2025 season, and 2026 WR [player_tooltip player_id='1803523' first='Kaden' last='Stone'] is an underrated part of their success. There are some big names in the Spartans' passing game, but Stone is talented in his own right and should receive some college attention this season. He's made a big impact on defense this season as a Nickel/Safety who plays man coverage well in the slot and gets downhill quickly on underneath and screen passes. Stone should be able to see more touches in the passing game in the second half of the season to further show his capability, but he's a name that D3 programs and possibly D2 schools should be looking at if he closes the season strong.

A 2026 prospect for D3 programs to check out from this season is Brooke WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1227634' first='Ethan' last='Fisher']. He's done some good things for the Bruins in all three phases of the game and could project on either side of the ball at the next level. Slot receiver feels like his most natural position as a prospect, with the quickness he possesses to create separations. We'll learn more about Fisher's game in the second half of the season as he gets more touches on offense, but small colleges should keep an eye on him moving forward.
