About DJ

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

i like to get out the gate HOT put my foot on the other teams throat i never want a team to think they can play with Us i say Us and not me because football is a team game 11 guys 11 personnel and 1 big family but i never want them to believe “oh we got them” no im gonna make sure my guys are ready to role before we step off the bus or before we run out to the Poca Faithful at O.O White Stadium

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe if your aren’t mentally tough, then what are you doing here, due to the fact football is nothing but a game of chess down and distance clock and how your able to move the ball 3rd and 15 you can’t get rattled, so staying calm not freakin out is huge to me

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Not since middle school no

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’d definitely say a leader coming from a bigger school at Nitro Where everyone is there to “just win” and coming to poca who’s a little smaller and some kids are here to just have fun with what football they have left i feel like i alone have shifted that to hey i can get a scholarship i really push my guys hard and i want the best out of them because they expect the best out of me

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

i faced A LOT of adversity and that’s really why we made the move to poca due to the fact nitro was not good for me and i wasn’t running from my problems i just had to make a smart move, i wont lie when i say i doubted my self a lot because i didnt feel good enough because the transfers so i decided to leave and my parents made the finally say so

What type of college are you looking for?

Definitely D1 but really i’ll go to who ever wants me most!!!!!! if i went d1 id like WVU Marshall And really anywhere if its D1 definitely hoping to pick up offers from WVSU Glenville State Fairmont State West liberty and the University of Charleston at the D2 level

Another under-the-radar receiver in the 2026 class who deserves some recognition is Poca’s DJ Combs DJ Combs DJ Combs 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Poca | 2026 State WV . He’s caught 20 passes for 222 yards in four games this season for the Dots and can be utilized in all three levels of the passing game. Combs is a good underneath security blanket for his quarterback in the short passing game, and has YAC ability to get upfield for extra yards. He also does a nice job working for his quarterback in scramble drills, fighting to get open. Combs would be a good value addition to a D3 program.

Poca is expecting 2026 WR DJ Combs DJ Combs DJ Combs 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Poca | 2026 State WV to take a step forward this season as a senior after showing flashes last season before going down with an injury. Combs has playmaking ability out of the slot with the speed and quickness to make plays after the catch as well. He also provides value as a safety on defense and as a returner on special teams, where he made some plays as a junior.

The Poca Dots have shown they can air the ball out this season with a strong passing game and 2026 Nitro transfer WR DJ Combs DJ Combs DJ Combs 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Poca | 2026 State WV will be a key piece of their aerial success. Combs caught 3 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown in the 19-6 win over Midland Trail and forced a fumble on defense. He looked quick out of the slot and did a great job rerouting on a bit of a scramble drill for his long touchdown reception finding open space for his quarterback to find him with good improvisation. He’s an under-the-radar prospect to keeps tabs on over the next two seasons as he gets more game film.
