Caledonia vs. Rockford - Quick Impressions

Yesterday, my plan was to go scout Northview vs. GR Catholic Central. At halftime, I realized I made a game-time decision to head down the road to Rockford.   I'm very glad I made that decision. I barely scratched the surface for these two teams (especially Rockford), but I'm happy to have gotten small notes for about a dozen players. Today, I'll share my impressions for some of the players I watched the most.    I've watched Tyden maybe more than anyone in the class of 2027. Countless in-person offseason evals when he was an underclassman, but this was my first time watching Tyden under the Friday Night Lights.   Quickly- Tyden was a phenomenal underclassman WR. Extremely explosive, detailed routes, wide catch radius, and really, really good hands. That part of his game has changed very little. Tyden is a bit taller, and he's still a fluid athlete, runs excellent routes, and has sure hands. He was consistently getting open against a great DB. His routes, release, body control, and hands are at a Divison 1 level. Still some of the best in the class.   A few question marks remain. First, I don't know how Tyden is as a blocker. When Caledonia ran the ball, Tyden would usually run a go in order to bait Rockford's man coverage to fly with him. Few blocking opputunities, and almost zero information in that regard.   Then, there's the fact that the target volume isn't excellent. With Caledonia's QB out with an AC sprain, it's been tough.   If Tyden tests well this offseason, I think he's easily a high-tier D2 prospect. Heck, I still wouldn't leave G5 out of the question. I (still) think Tyden is one of the best-kept secrets in Michigan.     Kylen is a very intriguing sophomore. Phenomenal size for a sophomore O/D lineman. All of his snaps were at OT, though I feel his true upside is at DT.   I liked what I saw at OT, though. Great physicality, good agility, and did his job well. On top of that, he's a competitive football player.   I would love to see what Kylen brings to the table at DT. If he spends the offseason building muscle and becoming more explosive, I think he could grow significantly as a defensive tackle. He could also be a solid interior offensive lineman in college.     I was able to catch a few plays for Logan. Pretty fluid athlete who changes direction quickly. Able to stick to his receiver and even follow him through motion. Logan did a nice job helping out against the run, but he thought he could have taken a better angle on a few occasions.   Super quick impression, but I'm intrigued. Looking forward to seeing what Logan is able to accomplish in the coming years.     I watched Carter more than any other Rockford player.   Size is legit. A big, tall offensive tackle who is visible from a mile away. Cronk also moves a bit better than most super-tall offensive tackles. Not amazing agility by any means, but definitely above average compared to other similarly-sized players I've seen over the years. Finally, I liked Cronk's physicality. He did a solid job getting hands on his defender and trying to drive him backward.   A pretty solid lineman all-around. Would love to see further improvements to agility, balance, and pass pro technique. I would expect Cronk to receive D2 offers at the very least. A great offseason, and I could absolutely see a MAC school come calling.     I wish I had spent more time watching Rylan. In the few snaps I watched, I was impressed with Rylan's power and play speed. High-effort player, and looked balanced + well-anchored in pass pro. Another Rockford offensive lineman who I'd expect to be a college prospect this coming offseason.
