What a statement from Detroit Catholic Central! Brother Rice came in and stood zero chance against the Shamrocks. Any day you can force a running clock in the 3rd quarter is a good day. Here are my quick impressions regarding five prospects.

Duke impressed me today. He played loose, in control, and got into a rhythm early.

First thing I'd like to mention is pocket presence. On a couple of occasions, I watched Duke feel pressure and navigate it perfectly while also keeping his eyes downfield. Plus, Duke had a couple of impressive deep balls and several on-time throws 10+ yards downfield.

Athletes play best when they are confident and loose. Duke seemed up to the moment and played an excellent game. Absolutely backed up his ranking in this one.

It's always good to get a second in-person evaluation on an elite prospect.

Gideon showed the same elite athletic traits as he did against OLSM. I still absolutely love his athletic profile. Truly an elite size + athleticism combination.

Offensively, Gideon caught a few passes and showed great physicality. Never goes down easy. Plus, he's a good route runner, especially considering WR is not his primary position.

Defensively, Gideon played a solid game. He immediately blew up quick game to his side of the field. Gideon does a great job reacting, sidestepping blocks, and quickly tackling in the open field. In coverage against some great receivers, Gideon did his job. There was one ugly play where Gideon bit on a double move, then had to draw PI to avoid a TD. I was a little suprised that he bit on that move, and I'd expect Gideon to clean that up. Still, his athletesism almost allowed him to recover. Gideon also had an interception on a underthrow- great job finding the football and high-pointing it there.

Still one of the best prospects in Michigan. Has a great case for #1 in the class of 2027.

When I go to games, I never intend to scout seniors. Sometimes, a senior will be impossible to ignore.

Connor was a force today. Several tackles and a few hard hits. Loved the way he attacked the football. Connor was involved in just about every defesive play where the ball was even remotely nearby.

Shocked that Connor has zero offers on his Twitter. I don't think he's a D1 guy, but absolutely worth a look for some GLIAC / MAIA programs.

Cedric has absolutely earned a rankings boost. He's flat-out efficient, and honestly, more explosive than I remember. Watch the play at 25:23 and see for yourself. Cedric follows his blocks, hits the sideline, and has enough speed to beat the last defender and make it into the endzone.

Cedric has developed into a very efficient runner. Love his vision, plus good top speed (47:37 is another example of good vision). I still think Cedric could use some work with his contact balance, but that aspect of his game is far from bad.

Charlie earned some snaps toward the end of the game, where most of the 2nds came in. I know he's a big-time up-and-comer for DCC, and I think he handled his opportunity well. There was one play late in the 4th (2:34:13) where Charlie was able to generate quick pressure and force a throwaway. In the following play, Charlie does a nice job attempting to chop away the guard's hands.

Still has a bit to work on and some room to fill out his frame. I like Charlie's getoff, thought he looked explosive on his pressure, and can't wait to see what he's capable of achieving in the coming year. No doubt a high-upside prospect. Just needs to earn it!
