- A scary-good football player. I still consider Gideon criminally underrated, even though he has plenty of P4 attention.
- Moves incredibly well for being 6’4″. As shifty as some D1-level slot WRs.
- Built extremely well. Has put in a ton of work in the weight room.
- Elite football player on both sides of the ball. Needs to clean up fundamentals here and there, but the upside is unmatched.
- Extremely physical. Does not hesitate to hit.

Gideon is our #2 ranked player in the 2027 class for good reason. His length, speed and football IQ are all off the chart. Gideons ability to read and react is special, and when the ball comes his way he is able to use his long legs to cover a ton of ground, and use his long arms to break up passes. He’s a 2 way star and will be stepping into some big shoes with the departure of his brother Samson. A legitimate speed demon 6’4 defensive back is hard to find, but that’s exactly DCC has for one more season.

What he did defensively against a solid Cass Tech team cannot be overlooked, but obviously his numbers on offense speak for themselves. 126 yards and 3 touchdowns in the state title game is absolutely unbelievable. His ability to get downfield and get behind the defense is unlike many others, except maybe his brother Samson. Even though the defense knew where the ball was going, there was very little they could do to take it away, and Gash made them pay for it. At his size, with his raw speed and athleticism, he could be my #1 player in this class, and a legitimate Mr. Football candidate next season.

It’s always good to get a second in-person evaluation on an elite prospect.
Gideon showed the same elite athletic traits as he did against OLSM. I still absolutely love his athletic profile. Truly an elite size + athleticism combination.
Offensively, Gideon caught a few passes and showed great physicality. Never goes down easy. Plus, he’s a good route runner, especially considering WR is not his primary position.
Defensively, Gideon played a solid game. He immediately blew up quick game to his side of the field. Gideon does a great job reacting, sidestepping blocks, and quickly tackling in the open field. In coverage against some great receivers, Gideon did his job. There was one ugly play where Gideon bit on a double move, then had to draw PI to avoid a TD. I was a little suprised that he bit on that move, and I’d expect Gideon to clean that up. Still, his athletesism almost allowed him to recover. Gideon also had an interception on a underthrow- great job finding the football and high-pointing it there.
Still one of the best prospects in Michigan. Has a great case for #1 in the class of 2027.

I didn’t know it was possible for the #6 player in my rankings to impress me even further, but he did. Up until yesterday, all of my knowledge of Gideon has come via a computer screen. Some tape, some word of mouth, but zero Friday night evaluations.
I have never seen a DB over 6’0″ move as well as Gideon. Extremely fast feet, fluid hips, and excellent change of direction. Most tall athletes struggle with change of direction and overall athletic fluidity- not Gideon. I also watched Gideon play tight man coverage against a very good WR. Good fundamentals, great athlete, need to watch more regarding ball skills.

is a cheat code. I mean, come on, someone who is 6’4″ should not be able to play DB like Gideon can.
He checks a lot of boxes. Tall, lengthy, and explosive. A lot of players are tall and lengthy, but it takes an incredible amount of work to become as athletic and as explosive as Gideon is. It’s especially impressive that he’s this athletic as an incoming Junior. His tape demonstrates what I’m saying. The first two highlights show lightning-fast feet and incredible break on the football, while the third highlight showcases his speed. Gideon also has highlights against some of the other best prospects in Michigan, which helps his case even more.
Gideon makes his rankings debut at #6. He has true #1 potential.
