2029 Position Breakdowns: Wide Receivers

Right now, he is making his mark as a defender. He has played as a linebacker and as a defensive back. At both positions, he does a good job of reading his keys and coming upfield to make tackles in the open field. There are not many prospects with his size (6'2"), strength, and athleticism. He can play all over the field. I did not see any wide receiver film yet, but he can play there as well. This past summer, he received an offer from Temple. He is a gifted player who has limited opportunities this season, but the talent is there. He has the speed and athletic ability to play as a wide receiver at a high level. He can go up and outjump defenders for passes thrown his way as well. As a wide receiver, he has limited reps, but he shows a good ability to high-point the ball thrown in his direction. The impact he has made is on defense. His ability to play as a defensive end and rush the passer is excellent. He shows his athleticism by making plays in the offensive backfield. On one play, he created an interception by putting pressure on the quarterback and hitting his arm. He also shows a good ability to catch the ball in between defenders. He also shows good defensive back skills as he can cover receivers at a high level. He is also a good tackler in the open field. He shows a good ability to run routes and catch the ball. He also shows a good ability to make defenders miss in the open field. McAleer also shows a solid ability to run routes at a high level. McAleer should only improve the longer he plays. I expect he will make a big impact next season on Varsity.
