Our new power score model allows us to add some context to each team in the state. Here, I am using them to identify some turnaround teams in Georgia this fall. These are the first three programs I want to highlight, each coming off losing seasons and are well on their way to finishing above .500 and at the top of their regions.

Glover is a smaller scat back who acts as an A back in a triple option scheme, meaning he is a trusted playmaker with the ball in space. He doubles as a T/F athlete, PR'ing at 11.24 in the 100M and long jumping over 20 feet this spring. He has good foot speed, changes direction well, and has enough speed to lift off when he finds space. He is the top playmaker for Columbus and is the explosive option for a prolific run game.

Feggins is the other prospect that caught my eye. From a pure traits and projection standpoint, he is one of the best raw athletes on the team. He is listed at 6'3 240, but looks and plays even bigger. He is hard to move and creates dents in the middle of the offensive line. He pursues well, which sets the intrigue for me. His motor runs hot, and he actively hunts down the football. His size and strength put him on the field, and his motor maximizes his traits.

Pound for pound, Appleby might be the most projectable athlete on this squad. He is all of 6'3 230, packed into his frame with impressive muscle mass. As an EDGE projection, he will be more of an edge setter, where he can redirect plays and chase the ball vertically. He flashes decent quickness off the line and is quick enough to flash across the face of blockers. Appleby is underrated and has the traits to play and hold his own at a small level of ball.

Stumbling across true hidden gems is my favorite part of my job, and Cole Woods is exactly that. Despite doubling as a track athlete and contributing on both sides of the ball, he has flown under the radar. He is a true speed mismatch on both sides of the ball. As a defender, he closes space to the ball and is hard to separate from. Offensively, he is tough to catch. He isn't just fast. He is fluid, smooth, and changes direction. He is definitely a fun watch and should get an eval from small schools looking for a late gem.

Boyd jumped on my radar this offseason and has done nothing but produce at a high level. He is in a well-covered area of the state for us. Here is what I had to say on him earlier this season:

"Wrote in my notes on Boyd this offseason, "Hardly any film out there. Needs re-eval in the fall." Regardless, his frame and basketball background are what had my attention. Now that he has film, we have something to evaluate. Boyd plays in a triple-option style offense, so most of his damage is done as a runner, although he is absolutely a WR projection. He is still lanky and raw in his movements, but his long strides eat up grass and help him maintain separation down the field. I wouldn't call his short-area quickness elite, but he has experience taking advantage of cutback opportunities and consistently creates yards for himself. Boyd is a massive hidden gem and will only get better. He is rocketing up my board."

Ray plays QB for Haralson County, but is more of an athlete playing QB. He is good enough as a passer, but is a true difference maker with his feet. He is quick to diagnose running lanes, stick his foot in the turf, get upfield, and separate. Anyone who can outrun defenders for 92 yards is fast, at least compared to their level of competition. Ray and Boyd are the two engines for Haralson County on offense.
